Made his first career Opening Day roster … appeared in 23 games and made 19 starts at catcher…pitchers recorded a 4.37 ERA (87 ER/179.0 IP) when he was behind the plate...threw out 25.0 percent (5-20) of attempted basestealers…made his first start of the season on 4/6 vs. Seattle (0-3)…connected on his first major-league home run on 4/26 vs. Tampa Bay…collected a career-high four hits, including a three-run home run off Ernesto Frieri, on 5/18 at Los Angeles-AL…caught all 16 innings in the White Sox 7-5 victory on 6/5 at Seattle, going 2-7 with a double and RBI…was designated for assignment on 7/5 and outrighted to Class AAA Charlotte on 7/9…made five starts with the Knights…was placed on the Charlotte disabled list on 7/22 to undergo left knee surgery…missed the remainder of the season…appeared in 60 games with Aragua in the Venezuelan Winter League, batting .257 (55-214) with nine doubles, 15 homers, 51 RBI and 39 runs scored.
