Resides in Manhattan Beach, CA...Graduated from Green Valley High School (NV); won state championships in 2001 and 2003...Attended Southern Nevada CC...His brother, Zeke, was drafted by Oakland in 2005 and played two seasons in the A's minor league system...Signed by Doug Deutsch (Astros). 2011 Was named an MiLB.com Yankees organizational All-Star following the 2011 season...Ranked eighth among Yankees minor leaguers with a .289 average...Ranked among team leaders in hits (1st), walks (1st), triples (T2nd) and RBI (4th)...Recorded four hits and four RBI on 5/31 at Indianapolis in a 10-3 win. 2010 Played the entire season with Triple-A Omaha, batting .266 (115-for-432) with 58R, 27 doubles, 11HR and 61RBI in 123 games...posted a .255 (102-for-400) batting average with 11HR in his starts in RF, and hit .406 (13-for-32) as a DH...was hit by a pitch 19 times, leading all Triple-A batters...went 5-for-6 with 4 doubles, 1HR and 4RBI in 5/18 win at Las Vegas...hit safely in 19 of 22 games from 6/14-7/10...following the season, played with La Guaira in the Venezuelan Winter League, batting .306 (22-for-72) in 25 games...was claimed off waivers by the Red Sox from the Royals on 11/24/10, then claimed off waivers by the Yankees from the Red Sox on 12/17/10. 2009 Had a very good first season in the Royals organization, although he combined for just 81 games at three stops due to a hamstring injury...Among his numerous strong numbers at NW Arkansas (AA), hit .417 (30-for-72) with runners in scoring position and .423 (11-for-26) with runners in scoring position and two outs...Named Topps' Texas League Player of the Month in June...Added to the Royals' 40-man roster on November 20, 2009...Enters 2010 rated by Baseball America as having the Best Outfi eld Arm in the Royals system. 2008 Played for Salem in Carolina League...placed third in the league in runs and on-base percentage. 2007 Named his team's MVP for the second straight year, batting .281 (130-for-462) with 28 doubles, 14HR, 76RBI and 33SB with Single-A Lexington...in his rst year at the full-season level, led the team in games, runs, hits, doubles, RBI and stolen bases...hit for the cycle on 7/26 vs. Lakewood, going 4-for-6 with 3R and 3RBI. 2006 Hit .336 (85-for-253) with 46R, 18 doubles, 6HR, 38RBI and 23SB in 70 games with short-season-Single-A Tri-City, earning team MVP honors...led the New York-Penn League in average, on-base pct.
