Graduate of Olive Branch (Miss.) High School in 2004 where he was named Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior...attended Mississippi State University...recipient of the 2007 Johnny Bench Award, awarded to the nation's top collegiate catcher...he and his wife, Liza, reside in Memphis, Tenn.

2014

In his first season with the Cardinals organization, spent the entire year at Triple-A Memphis, catching the majority (79) of their games...Caught 22 of 52 attempted base stealers (42%)...After a slow start, finished the season batting .296 while hitting over .300 in June (.314), July (.328) and August/September (.391)...Batted .391 (25-64) in Aug./Sept. including a 10-game hitting streak from 8/9-25 in which he hit .583 (21-36), scored 15 runs and drove in 15 runs. Also hit six doubles, a triple, five home runs and 19 RBI...Hit a career high 10 home runs, five of them in August...Went 3-6 (.500) with the bases loaded, including his 3rd career grand slam (8/10 vs. New Orleans).

2013

Led Reno (AAA) with a career high .334 batting average over 87 games...Led the Pacific Coast League in caught stealing percentage throwing out 25-of-70 attempted base stealers (35.7%)...Named the Diamondbacks organization co-player of the Month for August batting .402 (33-82) with 2 HR and 15 RBI and posting a .951 OPS...Batted .369 (31-84) with runners in scoring position and .344 (33-96) from the 7th inning and beyond...Hit a pinch-hit walk-off grand slam vs. Fresno (6/18), his second career grand slam...Tied his season high with six home runs (also in 2007 & 2008)...Hit left-handed pitchers at a .391 clip (27-69, 2 HR).

2012 Spent his second straight full season with Double-A Mobile, batting .265 (54-for-204) with 7 doubles, 2 home runs and 23 RBI in 67 games...Was a non-roster invitee to Spring Training with Arizona...Threw out 19.7 percent (13-for-66) of attempted base-stealers 2011 Hit .273 (79-for-289) with 16 doubles, 4 home runs and 37 RBI in 83 games with Double-A Mobile...Led all Southern League catchers with a .998 fielding percentage (1 E in 658 TC)...threw out 31.7 percent (26-for-82) of attempted base stealers...Reached base safely in 23 straight games from June 13-July 21, hitting .385 (30-for-78)...Was 3-for-5 with 2 doubles, a home run and 6 RBI on July 8 vs. Mississippi...Went 59-for-182 (.324) in his final 53 games. 2010 Combined to hit .243 (51-for-210) with 1 home run and 25 RBI in 72 games with Mobile and Triple-A Reno...Batted .259 (42-for-162) in 55 games with the BayBears before his promotion to the Aces on Aug. 4. 2009 Spent his second straight season with Single-A Visalia and hit .228 (86-for-378) with 3 homers and 38 RBI...Reached base safely in 36 consecutive games from Aug. 25, 2008-May 1, 2009...On the disabled list from July 5-15 with a strained left hip flexor. 2008 Batted in .247 (112-for-453) with 20 doubles, 6 home runs and 53 RBI in 118 games with Visalia...Finished fourth in the California League by throwing out 35-of-124 base-stealing attempts (.282). 2007 Made his professional debut with Short-Season Yakima...Named Northwest League Batter of the Week for July 9-16.
