Spent his first season with the Rockies and appeared in a career-high 75 games...his 75 games led the team and were tied for 4th in the National League...he went 3-4 with a 4.06 ERA (75.1 ip, 34 er) and 28 games finished...his 28 GF were third on the team behind closers Rex Brothers (40) and Rafael Betancourt (29)... Carried a 1-3 record and a 4.57 ERA (45.1 ip, 23 er) in 46 games pre-All-Star break...went 2-1 with a 3.30 ERA (30.0 ip, 11 er) in 29 games after the break...allowed just 6 earned runs in his final 20 games (19.2 ip) and went 2-0 with one game finished.... 25 of his 75 appearances were less than 1.0 inning...went 1-2 with a 6.92 ERA (13.0 ip, 10 er) in those games...in his 50 appearances of 1.0 inning or more he was 2-2 with a 3.47 ERA (62.1 ip, 24 er)... Had a 10.0 scoreless inning streak from 4/23-5/11 allowing nine hits over eight games... 2012 Named the Astros Pitcher of the Year by the Houston Chapter of the BBWAA. Recorded a career-high 10 saves after assuming the club's closer role in July. Won a career-high six games, which led all Astros relievers...his rate of 2.34 groundballs/flyball (103GB/44FB) was a career high...posted the lowest walks per 9.0 innings ratio among all NL relievers with his mark of 1.09 (8BB/66.1IP)...is also the second lowest walks per 9.0 innings ratio in franchise history, trailing his own 0.67 (5BB/67IP) mark, set in 2010. Ranked second in strikeouts to walks ratio among NL relievers with a 6.75 mark (54SO/8BB). Missed 26 games on a DL stint from June 11-July 9 with a sprained right elbow...aside from that stint, spent the rest of the season in the Astros bullpen. Began his season by facing 78 batters without allowing a walk (22.1IP), which was the longest such streak to start a season since John Smoltz faced 92 batters before his first walk in 2004. Had a 10-game scoreless streak from April 30-May 17 (10.2IP). Posted a 1.53 ERA (5ER/29.1IP) in his last 28 appearances with three wins, 10 saves, four walks and 25 strikeouts. allow a home run through his first 30 games (29IP) of the season from April 1-June 18. 2010 Spent most of the season with the Astros, posting a 5-2 record with one save and a 2.96 ERA (22ER/67IP) in 68 relief appearances...accumulated one full year of Major League service time, despite being optioned twice to Triple A...made three relief appearances with Round Rock, going 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA (3ER/5IP)...despite a solid Spring Training (0ER/7IP), optioned to Triple A to start the season...recalled on April 8 and stayed with Houston until being optioned again on April 24...recalled on May 4 and spent the remainder of the season with Houston...was never DL'd but did not appear in a game from Sept. 11-23... among MLB rookie relievers, ranked third in appearances (68) and innings pitched (67.0), tied for fourth in wins (5) and sixth in ERA (2.96)... his 68 appearances, ranked as the sixth-most by a rookie in franchise history (last, Wesley Wright's 71 apps. in 2008)... stranded 32 of 33 inherited runners (3.0 IRS), the best ratio in the Majors... is the lowest ratio for a single campaign in the Majors since 1974... tossed 29.1 consecutive innings, over 29 appearances, without issuing a walk from July 26 through the remainder of the season... marked the longest run by an Astros pitcher since Roy Oswalt tossed 32.0 consecutive walkless innings from June 17-July 17, 2004... issued only five walks on the season, while fanning 50, in his 67.0 innings...his 10-to-one strikeout-to-walk ratio ranked third in the Majors among relief pitchers...was the only player in the Majors scoreless streak of 19.2 innings over 18 appearances from July 19-Aug. 22...was the longest by an Astro in 2010. 2009 Made two starts and appeared in eight games for Houston, posting an 0-2 record with a 8.38 ERA (18ER/19.1IP)...as a starter, went 0-2 with a 8.31 ERA (8ER/8.2IP)...started the last game of the season for Houston at NYM and allowed four runs, three earned, in a careerhigh 5.0 innings...made his first career Major League start on Sept. 29 at PHI and allowed five runs in 3.2 innings for his first MLB loss...became the first Nicaraguan-born player to play for Houston...was recalled from Double A Corpus Christi on Aug. 28 and made Major League debut that night at ARI by tossing 92 pitches in 4.0 innings of relief...made 29 appearances, including 15 starts, with the Hooks
