Originally signed by the New York Yankees on Oct. 5, 2000, as a 17-year-old non-drafted free agent out of Santo Domingo, DR. ... Joined the organization as a Major League free agent and placed on the Astros 40- man roster prior to the 2010 season...since his acquisition, has been on the club's 40- man roster in parts of each of the last three seasons before being outrighted each offseason. ...
