Kyle Nathaniel Blanks…he and his wife, Janet, have one son, Brayden...graduated from Moriarty High School where he played baseball and basketball…attended Yavapai (AZ) Junior College before signing with the Padres…signed by Padres' scout Jake Wilson.

2013

Began the season with Triple-A Tucson before being called up on April 14…set career-highs in games played (88), hits (68), runs scored (31), doubles (14), RBI (35) and walks (21) in 2013...Over his first 40 games with the Padres from April 14 - June 9, hit .298 (34-for-114) with seven doubles, six home runs, 21 RBI, 18 runs scored, a .383 on-base percentage and a .518 slugging percentage...Placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 12 with left Achilles tendinitis…played in four games on a rehabilitation assignment in August with Triple-A Tucson before being reinstated on August 31...Made a career-high 71 starts with SD going 38-33 (.535) in his starts…33 in RF, 21 at 1B, 16 in LF and one as the DH...On June 24 vs. Philadelphia, collected a career-high four hits, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and a run, including a two-run single with no outs in the ninth to bring the Padres within one run before scoring the game-tying run on a passed ball from third base...also had the game-ending RBI single in the 10th inning to give the Padres a 4-3 victory, his second career walk-off hit (also home run on August 17, 2009 vs. Chicago-NL)...Had a career-best eight-game hit streak from June 3-10 (.400, 12-for-30)…with RISP, he hit .329 (24-for-73).
