Brandon signed a two-year contract with the Cubs December 12, 2017 ... includes a club/vesting option for the 2020 campaign ... is coming off a career-best campaign in 2017, going 6-0 with two saves and a 2.06 ERA (10 ER/43.2 IP) in 45 relief outings... Has been utilized both as a starter and a reliever in his career, pitching exclusively out of the 'pen the last two seasons ... has gone 51-43 with 18 saves, four complete game shutouts and a 4.05 ERA (373 ER/828.1 IP) in 299 major league outings... Is 7-0 with two saves and a 1.96 ERA (13 ER/59.2 IP) in 63 relief appearances since the start of 2016... Has posted a 4.32 ERA (309 ER/644.1 IP) in 113 starts and a 3.13 ERA (64 ER/184.0 IP) in 186 relief outings... Has pitched in parts of 11 major league seasons with Seattle (2007-09), Toronto (2010-14), San Diego (2015- 16) and the Dodgers (2017)... Combined to go 2-2 with two saves and a 6.38 ERA in 20 games (six starts) with Triple-A El Paso, Double-A San Antonio, Single-A Lake Elsinore and Rookie-level AZL Padres ... was on the seven-day D.L. with right shoulder inflammation, June 15-July 14.

2015

Limited to just five starts for the Padres, going 2-0 with a 2.73 ERA (10 ER/33.0 IP)... Went at least 6.0 innings in each of his five starts ... in four starts at Petco Park, he went 2-0 with a 1.67 ERA (5 ER/27.0 IP) and 20 strikeouts against six walks with a .245 opponent batting average... Placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 5 with right shoulder inflammation and did not pitch in a Major League game following the injury … made a pair of rehab starts with Double-A San Antonio on June 2-7, but was removed from his second outing after he was experiencing discomfort in his right shoulder and was placed on the 60-day disabled list June 24 … made another rehab start July 25 with Triple-A El Paso, but was removed after experiencing a setback in that same shoulder … underwent surgery to repair a right shoulder impingement August 19.

2014

Made 13 appearances, six starts, for the Toronto Blue Jays after missing the majority of the season with a finger injury...Missed 107 games after he was placed on the 15-day disabled list on 5/3 and transferred to the 60-day disabled list the following day with a torn tendon sheath in his right hand...Pitched to a 1-3 record with a 5.67 ERA (21 ER, 33.1 IP) and 30 strikeouts against 18 walks in his 13 Major League appearances… his seven games out of the bullpen were his first since making 16 relief appearances in the 2009 season…his 33.1 innings pitched were the fewest of his career...Posted a 1-2 record with a 5.93 ERA (18 ER, 27.1 IP) and 26 strikeouts against 17 walks while limiting the opposition to a .286 batting average in his six starts…in his seven relief appearances, went 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA (3 ER, 6.0 IP) and four strikeouts against one walk while limiting the opposition to a .292 batting average...Made three rehab appearances out of the bullpen between Single-A Dunedin (1) and Triple-A Buffalo (2), pitching to a combined 0-0 record with a 2.70 ERA (1 ER, 3.1 IP) with two strikeouts and no walks.

2013

Season was cut short due to right forearm strain and was originally placed on the disabled list June 1...Was later diagnosed with an entrapped radial nerve in his forearm in July and transferred to the 60-day disabled list on August 1...It was the 4th season in the last five and the 3rd consecutive with at least one DL stint. Made 10 starts in 2013...The 10 appearances represented the fewest of his career, along with his 54.1 innings. Allowed 12 home runs for a 1.99 per nine total the highest on the club (min 50.0IP) ... Allowed multi-home runs in five of his 10 games...Surrendered only three in 21 contests in 2012. Five of his 10 starts were less than six innings…Club lost his first four starts, but rebounded to win four of his last six contests.

2012 Was one of only four AL pitchers to post an ERA below 3.00 with a minimum of 120 IP (Price, Verlander, Weaver)... Won 10 or more games for the third consecutive season...Was removed from his start on June 11 with an oblique strain and was kept out until Aug. 25... Was 7-4 with a 3.01 ERA in 13 starts prior to being hurt and 3-3 with a 2.87 ERA in eight starts after...In the 10 games he won was dominant, allowing just seven earned runs in 92.2 IP for 0.68 ERA... Held opponents to a .168 average in those contests...Posted three shutouts ranking 2nd in the AL (Hernandez-5) despite making only 21 starts... Since his debut in 2007, only CJ Wilson (.228), David Price (.228) & Justin Verlander (.229) have a lower opponents average than Morrow (.235) in the AL...
