Jake begins his first full season with the Cubs after being acquired from Baltimore, July 2 of last season, with pitcher Pedro Strop and two international signing bonus slots (slot numbers three and four) for pitcher Scott Feldman and catcher Steve Clevenger ... is 24-27 with a 5.23 ERA (238 ER/409.2 IP) in 78 career games (72 starts) in four big league seasons with Baltimore (2010-13) and the Cubs (2013)... Has struck out 314 hitters compared to 183 walks in 409.2 career innings, an average of 6.9 strikeouts per nine innings... Has reached the 100.0 innings pitched mark in three of his first four big league seasons...Made his first career Opening Day start, April 6, 2012 vs. Minnesota... Became the first pitcher in Orioles history to throw at least 7.0 innings shutout innings while allowing two or fewer hits on Opening Day...
