Name is pronounced her-NAHN EAR-a-BAR-en...in 2016 was an International League All-Star after leading the IL in hitting...in 2006 was a Florida State League mid- and post-season All-Star...in 2005 was a South Atlantic League All-Star, participated in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game at Det's Comerica Park and was rated by Baseball America the best defensive second baseman in the SAL...in 2004 was the Arizona League's Most Valuable player.

Spent the minor league season at Louisville, where he became the second Bats player to lead the International League in hitting (Norris Hopper, 2006)...also led all Reds minor league batters in hitting...was the only Bats player on the International League's post-season All-Star team...joined the Reds on 9/4 and made 24 apps, including 7 starts at 3 positions (4gs in CF, 2gs in RF, 1gs at 2B)...made 12 of his 24 apps as a pinch hitter (5-11, .455, 2 3b)...on 9/5 vs NYM became the first Reds player with a pinch-hit triple (off Bartolo Colon) since Jack Hannahan did it on 4/22/13 vs Cubs (off Jack Russell), then hit another pinch-hit triple the next night (off NYM's Rafael Montero)...became the first Reds batter with 2 pinch-hit triples in a season since Todd Frazier in 2012 and the first Major League player with consecutive pinch-hit triples since Fla's Scott Cousins did it on 9/24 and 9/25, 2010...prior to the 2016 season, most recently appeared in a Major League game on 8/24/09 for Mil at Wsh and made his only other Major League start on 6/15/08 for Mil vs Min (2B)...at Louisville, beginning 7/1 hit .343 the rest of the season, including .414 in his last 15 apps...for the Bats produced a 14-game hitting streak and a 15-game hitting streak...for the Bats played every position but catcher, including 4 hitless pitching apps (3.2ip)...made starts at 1B (18), 2B (11), 3B (3), SS (13), LF (10), CF (24) and RF (6)...on 10/28 cleared waivers and was outrighted to Louisville...on 11/7 elected free agency but on 12/2 was re-signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to 2017 Major League spring training camp...played for Anzoategui in the Venezuelan Winter League (24g, .307, 4 2b, 1 3b, 1hr, 16rbi).
