Full name is Mario August Lisson...last name is pronounced "lee-SONE"...resides in Caracas, Venezuela...Graduated from Colegio Cervante (Venezuela) High in 2001. 2009 Split his 2009 season between NW Arkansas (AA) and Omaha (AAA), seeing his fi rst time at the Triple-A level...spent a majority of his time playing shortstop...Enters 2010 rated by Baseball America as being the Best Defensive Infi elder in the Royals system. 2008 Spent the entire season with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals of the Double-A Texas League...hit .225 (107-for-476) in 130 games, with 23 doubles, three triples, a career-best 14 home runs, 65 RBIs, 31 stolen bases and 57 runs scored...after beginning the season as the Naturals primary third baseman, spent the final two months at shortstop...was a consistent performer, hitting .224 (57-for-255) with 11 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 29 RBIs, 16 stolen bases and 25 runs scored before the All-Star break and .226 (50-for-221) with 12 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 36 RBIs, 15 stolen bases and 32 runs scored after...went 2-for-5 with a homer and five RBIs May 1 vs. Springfield ...was 1-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs July 1 against Corpus Christi...went 3-for-6 with a triple, two home runs and a season-high six RBIs and three runs scored July 28 vs. Springfield...was 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs and two runs scored Aug. 25 against Tulsa...hit in seven straight games May 16-24, and a season-high eight straight June 28-July 6, with one hit in each of the eight games...stole two bases in a game three times...following the regular Minor League season, joined Leones del Caracas of the Venezuelan Winter League and hit .211 (8-for-38) in 22 games, with three doubles, one triple, two home runs, nine RBIs, one stolen base and eight runs scored. 2007 Spent the entire season with the Wilmington Blue Rocks of the Class A Advanced Carolina League...hit .285 (132-for-463) in 126 games, with 27 doubles, three triples, eight home runs, 61 RBIs, 23 stolen bases and 72 runs scored...finished in the top 10 in the league in hits, runs, games played, at-bats, total bases (189) and stolen bases...was named to the midseason and postseason Carolina League All-Star teams...was added to the Royals 40-man roster following the season. 2006 Spent the entire season with the Burlington Bees of the Class A Midwest League...hit .263 (122-for-463) in 130 games, with 30 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 73 RBIs, 41 stolen bases and 67 runs scored...was second in the league in stolen bases, and led the club in runs and doubles...was named the Burlington Player of the Year. 2005 Began his first year of full-season pro ball with the Burlington Bees of the Class A Midwest League...missed most of the second half of the season with a torn labrum in his left shoulder...hit .250 (65-for-260) in 78 games, with 15 doubles, four triples, six home runs, 36 RBIs, 23 stolen bases and 57 runs scored. 2004 Spent the entire season with the Idaho Falls Chukars of the (Rookie-level) Pioneer League...hit .289 (74-for-256) in 71 games, with 10 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 49 RBIs, 15 stolen bases and 60 runs scored. 2003 Spent the entire season with the (Rookie-level) Dominican Summer League Royals...hit .290 (61-for-210) in 62 games, with 11 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 28 RBIs, nine stolen bases and 26 runs scored...led the club in homers, RBIs and games played while finishing second in average...was named the Dominican Royals Player of the Year. 2002 Made his professional debut and split the season between the (Rookie-level) Gulf Coast League Royals and the (Rookie-level) Dominican Summer League Royals...with the GCL Royals, hit .200 (2-for-10) in six games...with the DSL Royals, hit .198 (16-for-81) in 30 games, with two doubles, nine RBIs, one stolen base and 12 runs scored.
