David Jose Hernandez… Has two sons, Jayden (1/20/10) and Lucas (4/1/12)… Attended Cosumnes River College (CA)… Holds the college's single-season strikeout record (119 in 2005)… Is also the school's career leader in strikeouts (224) and is tied for the all-time lead in wins (20)… His brother, Ray, was a pitcher in ARI's organization from 2011-12… Signed by: James Keller.


Began the season on the 15-day DL while recovering from Tommy John surgery; activated on 6/7...Posted a 3.07 ERA (5 ER, 14.2 IP) through his first 16 games...Did not allow more than three ER in any appearance...Averaged 8.82 SO/9.0 IP


Missed the entire season following Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on March 24 (performed by Dr. James Andrews in Florida).
