Selected in the 10th round of the 2005 June draft... signed by Rangers scout Todd Guggiana. ... Attended San Fernando High School in San Fernando, CA and was drafted out of high school...appeared in nine games for San Fernando in 2005, going 3-2 with a 3.21 ERA (10ER /28IP) and 36 strikeouts. ... Earned first-team all-league honors in 2005 while leading San Fernando to a 17-11 record and playoff birth. ...
