Matt grew up in the Brandon area and is active in the Tampa Bay community January he hosted the Third Annual Sweet Swingin' Baseball Camp at North Brandon Little League, where he played as a youth, giving tips to 100 kids ages 7 to 14...this year's camp raised over $12,000 for the league as well as a travel ball team...Matt has a black Labrador Retriever puppy named Eli...In December, Matt traveled to Joe Maddon's hometown of Hazleton, Pa., to attend the manager's Hazleton Integration Project to know Tino Martinez over the weekend...Made offseason trips to St. Lucia, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Connecticut and Miami...He is a natural righthander and does everything that way-eat, write, throw, play golf-except hit.
