Pitched for three seasons at Texas A&M... compiled a 4-1 record with four saves and a 2.90 ERA (40K) in 19 games in 2005... also saw time at catcher in 2004 as a sophomore... finished 0-2 with a 4.15 ERA in 10 games as a pitcher and hit .233 (10-for-43) with 1HR and 4RBI behind the plate... tabbed as a 2004 Second-Team Summer All-American by Baseball America after earning Cape Cod League All-Star honors for Wareham, finishing 2-2 with a 0.42 ERA, 11 saves and 31K in 18 games... named the 10th-best prospect overall in the Cape Cod League by Baseball America... batted .245 with 1HR and 6RBI as a freshman catcher... named the eighth-best prospect in the Jayhawk League during the summer by Baseball America after pitching for Liberal High School. 2011 Spent the majority of the season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, going 2-3 with 23 saves and a 2.75 ERA (52.1IP, 16ER) in 45 relief appearances...was named to the International League's midseason All-Star team and converted 18 of 21 save opportunities with a 1.61 ERA (28.0IP, 5ER) prior to the halfway point of the year...finished the season tied for second in the league in saves, holding opposing batters hitless in 21 of his 45 outings. 2010 Went a combined 5-4 with a 6.02 ERA (49.1IP, 33ER) with Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre... began and ended the season with Scranton/WB where he was 2-1 with a 6.30 ERA, allowing 14ER in 20.0IP... in two postseason appearances, was 1-0 with 0.00 ERA, striking out three batters in 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen... went 3-3 with a 5.83 ERA with the Thunder, recording 40K in 29.1IP (19ER). 2009 Combined to go 4-0 with three saves and a 2.67 ERA in 44 relief appearances (67.1IP, 20ER) with Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, allowing just 1HR... began the season with Trenton, going 4-0 with two saves and a 2.63 ERA in 30 relief outings... was promoted to Scranton/WB on 7/21 where he had one save and a 2.84 ERA in 14 relief appearances without recording a decision... made two postseason appearances out of the bullpen for the International League runner-ups, earning one save and tossing 2.2 scoreless innings (1H, 4BB, 6K) 2008 Posted a 1-0 record with two saves and a 4.50 ERA in 24 combined appearances between Single-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton... struck out 46 batters in 38.0IP... opened the season on the disabled list with a right forearm strain (4/3-5/13)... missed four games (6/9-12) for the birth of his child... also missed another month from 6/24-7/30 with a right elbow strain... held left-handed batters to a .098 batting average (5-for-51, 0HR)... made two postseason appearances for the Eastern League champions, allowing 4ER in 2.1IP... pitched with the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League, holding opponents scoreless in nine of his 11 outings. 2007 Combined at Single-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton to go 6-2 with a 2.62 ERA in 38 appearances (eight starts) in his first season with the Yankees organization... overall, held opponents to a .162 batting average with right-handers batting just .133 off him... began season with Trenton, was transferred to Tampa on 6/11, then returned to Trenton on 7/23... appeared in a starting role for the first time with Tampa, making seven starts (2-0, 1.93 ERA, 12BB, 28K) and holding opponents scoreless four times... was named Florida State League "Pitcher of the Week" for the period ending 7/8 (1-0, 10.0IP, 2H, 0ER, 3BB, 8K)... began the season with five straight scoreless outings, converting on all three save opportunities (9.0IP, 5H, 4BB, 11K)... following the season, appeared in three games with the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League (0-0, 12.00 ERA). 2006 Ranked third among all Detroit Tigers' minor-league pitchers with 27 saves in 2006, going 4-1 with a 2.67 ERA in 51 games for the Single-A Lakeland Tigers... limited opposing hitters to a .178 batting average (33-for-185) and held right-handed hitters to a .158 average (18-for-114)... ranked second among all Florida State League pitchers with 46 games finished, ranked third in the league in saves and ranked fourth with 51 games pitched. 2005 Selected as the Tigers Minor League "Pitcher of the Month" for August after posting a 0.84 ERA (10.2IP, 1ER), nine saves and 20 strikeouts in 11 appearances for short-season Single-A West Michigan... named the 10th-best prospect in the Tigers organization and 18th-best prospect in the New York-Penn League following the season by Baseball America... selected to the publication's all-star squad for players drafted out of college.
