James has spent nearly all of the last four seasons in Chicago's bullpen after he made his big league debut in 2010... he was selected by the organization in the 14th round of the 2007 draft, and his 215 games pitched since the start of 2011 lead all lefthanders and rank seventh-most in the majors... Owns a 3.47 ERA (85 ER/220.1 IP) and a 10-9 record in 267 major league relief outings ... made five starts in 2011, going 0-5 with a 9.33 ERA (19 ER/18.1 IP)... His 57 appearances for Chicago in 2010 made him just the eighth Cubs rookie southpaw to reach 50 outings in a campaign... The lefty went 11-16 with a 4.68 ERA (130 ER/250.0 IP) in 71 minor league games (40 starts)... Attended the University of Texas … graduated from Navarro Junior College (Texas) in 2006... Graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School (Texas) in 2004...
