Single and resides in The Woodlands, TX...Attended Tomball (TX) HS...Was selected as the state's high school Gatorade Player of the Year after going 12-0 with an 0.91 ERA as a senior for 31-3 Tomball...Earned First-Team All-District honors and was named to the All-State team as a junior...Threw two no-hitters and a perfect game in high school...Signed with the University of Texas before Houston selected him in the 9th round of the 2004 First Year Player Draft...Was signed by Astros' Gus Pendergast.
