Resides in San Pedro de Macoris, DR...Was originally signed by Boston as a non-drafted free agent on 1/20/02 and played in the Dominican Summer League as a shortstop (.211 batting average in 2002) before he was released on 11/3/03...Signed by Johnny Almaraz (Reds).

2013

Made an International League-high 54 relief appearances. Ranked among team leaders in appearances (1st, 54), holds (T-1st, 7), saves (2nd, 9), WHIP for a reliever (2nd, 1.27), games finished (2nd, 22) and strikeouts (5th, 70). Stranded 13-of-20 inherited runners, a 65.0% rate. Stranded a season-high two runners four times. After starting 0-for-2 in save opportunities, converted nine consecutive saves from 6/18 to 8/31. It was the longest save streak by a Gwinnett pitcher in 2013. Posted a Gwinnett-best 17.2-inning scoreless streak over 14 outings from 5/20 to 6/26. Held IL opponents to a .204 batting average (46-for-226). Left-handers hit just .188 (15-for-80), right-handers hit .212 (31-for-146). After going 1-3 with a 3.91 ERA (20 ER in 46.0 IP) in 38 games prior to the All-Star break, went 1-1 with a 2.55 ERA (5 ER/17.2 IP) over his final 16 outings.
