Thomas Field...Signed by Rockies scout Chris Forbes...became the sixth, and second in 2011 (Paul GoldschmidtARI), Texas State baseball player to play in the big leagues when he made his Major League debut 9/11/11.

Played in 26 games across five different stints with the Angels, going 4-for-26 (.154) in those contests... Collected first big league hit since 2011 on July 26…Had four hits in 17 at-bats as a starter but was 0-for-9 as a sub... Defensively, played nine games at second base, five at shortstop and three at third base…Made five starts for the Halos: three at second base, one at third and one at shortstop... Began the season with Triple-A Salt Lake before being recalled on April 20…Optioned back to Triple-A April 23...Recalled again on July 20…Optioned back to Triple-A on Aug. 16…Recalled Sept. 8 before being optioned back to Triple-A on Sept. 9th…Recalled for final time on Sept. 16...In 81 games with Triple-A, hit .303 with 20 doubles, 11 home runs and 49 RBI...The .303 clip ranked second on the club (min. 300 AB)...The .303 average was a new career high at the minor league level.
