Was originally signed by Twins scout Ricky Taylor after being drafted by the Twins in the fifth round of the 2005 draft...Is a 2002 graduate of Dorman (SC) High School...Attended the University of South Carolina...Named First-Team All-Southeastern Conference and First-Team All-Tournament at the NCAA Atlanta Regional in 2003...His father, Wayne, played in parts of 10 seasons in the Major Leagues.
