Selected by the Brewers in the third round of the 2005 June Draft...attended Tunstall (Va.) High School. 2012 Signed with the Red Sox organization as a minor league free agent and spent the season pitching out of the bullpen for Triple-A Pawtucket...was a perfect 6-for-6 in save opportunities. 2011 Made career-high 42 appearances at Triple-A Tucson in 1st season following elbow surgery...Began the season in the rotation and made 17 starts overall...25 of his last 27 appearances beginning 6/26 came out of the bullpen, his 1st relief work since 2006...Tied for the team lead and tied for 6th in the Pacific Coast League with 120 strikeouts...Struck out 9.23 batters per 9.0 innings (120 K/117.0 IP), including a 9.72 rate (86 K/79.2 IP) as a starter...Fanned a season-high 10 batters in a 5.0-inning start on 5/19 at Iowa...Of his last 12 relief appearances beginning 8/1, 9 were scoreless...Posted a 4.24 ERA (8 ER/17.0 IP) in that time...Gave up 16 home runs but just 1 in his last 18 relief outings after the All-Star break. 2010 Pitched to a 3.61 ERA (25
