The Mariners acquired left-handed pitcher Wade Miley and right-hander Jonathan Aro from the Red Sox for southpaw Roenis Elias right-handed reliever Carson Smith on Monday, according to reports.

Played collegiately at Southeastern Louisiana University...led the Southland Conference with 119 strikeouts in 2008, the second-highest single season total in school history and the sixth-best total in the nation...named to the All-Southland Conference First-Team, as well as garnering Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week honors twice...was also on the Roger Clemens Award Watch List for 2008...his 259 career strikeouts rank second on the schoolᦳ all-time list... Graduated from Loranger High School in Loranger, La.
