Casper Charles Wells Jr....is a 5th generation Casper in his family...native of Schenectady, NY...attended Towson State University (2003-05)...named All-Colonial Athletic Association honors as a sophomore in 2004...selected the CAA Player of the Year after hitting .362 (77x213) with 18 HR and 66 RBI in 58 games as a junior in 2005.

Casper went to Spring Training with the Mariners, however, he was designated for assignment, March 31, and went on to see big league action with Oakland, the White Sox and Philadelphia ... all told, hit .126 (12-for-95) with two doubles and a RBI in 53 games ... Played 11 games in right field, five games in center field and two at pitcher ... Was claimed off waivers by Toronto, April 10 ... did not appear in a game for the Blue Jays before he was designated for assignment, April 15 ... Traded to Oakland, April 22, for a cash consideration ... played three games for the A's before he was designated for assignment, April 28, and traded to the White Sox for a cash consideration the following day ... Made his first career appearance at pitcher, June 28 vs. Cleveland, tossing a scoreless inning ...
