Arquimedes Euclides Caminero (first name pronounced "ar-keh-MEE-deez")...Wife's name is Lisenia...Has two daughters; Ashley (8/6/08) and Emely (8/31/10)...Was originally signed as an international free agent at the age of 17 by the Marlins on 5/25/05 and spent the first two years of his professional career (2005-2006) pitching for the DSL Marlins.

Made 42 appearances with Double-A Jacksonville before making Major League debut with Miami on August 16 vs. San Francisco (1.0 IP, HB, SO). Posted 5-2 record with five saves in seven opportunities and 3.61 ERA (52.1 IP/21 ER) with Jacksonville. His five wins were tied for third-most on team with Michael Brady. Led Suns relievers with 68 strikeouts, compared to 21 walks. Allowed 14 runs (13 earned) over first eight appearances (10.32 ERA). Settled down and allowed just nine runs (eight earned) in 41.0 innings over final 34 appearances (1.76 ERA). Recorded a season-high 2.0 innings pitched 12 times, first on April 8 vs. Jackson. Tallied 21 multi-strikeout games, with two season-best five strikeout efforts. First came on April 15 at Pensacola, followed by the second on June 13 vs. Montgomery. Earned promotion to Miami on August 16, making his debut that night. Appeared in four games with Marlins before being optioned to Triple-A New Orleans. Allowed just one run in first stint with Miami. Made one appearance with Zephyrs following option on August 28, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings on August 31 vs. Albuquerque. Recalled again on September 3 and made nine appearances to finish season. 2012 Mack Jenkins is in his 24th season in the organization and in his second year on the Reds' Major League coaching staff...spent the previous 6 seasons (2006-2011) as the club's minor league pitching coordinator...in 2012 assisted Bryan Price in producing one of the most successful pitching staffs in franchise history...Reds pitchers last season established a club record for strikeouts (1,248) and ranked third in the National League in team ERA (3.34), first in the Major Leagues in relief ERA (2.65) and saves (56), first in the NL in opponents' BA vs relievers (.219) and fourth in the NL in starters' ERA (3.64)...the bullpen averaged 9.90 strikeouts per 9 innings, the second-highest season average for a team bullpen in Major League history (2010 Braves, 10.06), and 5 pitchers started 161 of the Reds' 162 games (Bronson Arroyo, Homer Bailey, Johnny Cueto, Mat Latos, Mike Leake)...the 2012 staff was 1 of only 9 in Major League history with 5 pitchers who made at least 30 starts each and was the Reds' first since 1943 with 4 pitchers who compiled 200 innings each (Arroyo, Bailey, Cueto, Latos) ... He re-aggravated the injury in the appearance and had Tommy John surgery on July 12. 2010 In his sixth professional season, established career highs in nearly every category for single-A Greensboro. Tallied personal bests in wins (5), games (48), innings pitched (74.2), walks (34) and strikeouts (97) ... Allowed six earned runs over his first four appearances prior to going on an 11.2 inning scoreless streak from April 25 to May 13. Allowed five hits over that span with three walks and 12 strikeouts ... Earned first win on May 7 at Lexington, allowing one hit with two strikeouts over 2.0 innings. Entered the game trailing 1-0 before the Grasshoppers put up four runs while he was on the mound ... Took first loss of the year on May 24 at Asheville, surrendering one run on two hits over 2.2 innings ... On June 26 vs. West Virginia, earned first save of the season. Five of his six recorded outs came via strikeout ... Also recorded saves on July 31 vs. Hagerstown and August 23 vs. Kannapolis ... Held left-handed hitters to a .190 average (20x105) while right-handed hitters posted a .206 mark (35x170) ... In 10 August games, went 1-1 with one save and a 0.56 ERA (16.0 IP/1 ER).
