Arquimedes Euclides Caminero (first name pronounced "ar-keh-MEE-deez")...Wife's name is Lisenia...Has two daughters; Ashley (8/6/08) and Emely (8/31/10)...Was originally signed as an international free agent at the age of 17 by the Marlins on 5/25/05 and spent the first two years of his professional career (2005-2006) pitching for the DSL Marlins.


Set career highs in every category in his first full season in the Major Leagues...Led all National League rookie relief pitchers in appearances and strikeouts...Finished the season with a five-game winning streak; tied for the longest streak among N.L. rookies...Stranded 24 of his 31 inherited runners...Led the entire Pittsburgh pitching staff in strikeouts (21) during spring training (13.1ip)...Made four straight scoreless outings to start the season (2.2ip)...Surrendered game-tying home run to Todd Frazier on 6/25 vs. Cincinnati and suffered his lone blown save...Gave up a home run in back-to-back games on 6/23 and 6/25 after allowing just one in his first 31 outings...Won his first Major League game on 7/12 vs. St. Louis...Pitched 2.1 innings and had a career-high six strikeouts on 8/4 vs. Chicago (NL)...Tossed a career-high 3.0 innings on 8/18 vs. Arizona... Tallied 21 multi-strikeout games, with two season-best five strikeout efforts. First came on April 15 at Pensacola, followed by the second on June 13 vs. Montgomery. Earned promotion to Miami on August 16, making his debut that night. Appeared in four games with Marlins before being optioned to Triple-A New Orleans. Allowed just one run in first stint with Miami. Made one appearance with Zephyrs following option on August 28, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings on August 31 vs. Albuquerque. Recalled again on September 3 and made nine appearances to finish season. Allowed three runs in first two appearances following recall, then made seven consecutive scoreless appearances (6.2 IP). He re-aggravated the injury in the appearance and had Tommy John surgery on July 12. 2010 In his sixth professional season, established career highs in nearly every category for single-A Greensboro. Tallied personal bests in wins (5), games (48), innings pitched (74.2), walks (34) and strikeouts (97) ... Allowed six earned runs over his first four appearances prior to going on an 11.2 inning scoreless streak from April 25 to May 13. Allowed five hits over that span with three walks and 12 strikeouts ... Earned first win on May 7 at Lexington, allowing one hit with two strikeouts over 2.0 innings. Entered the game trailing 1-0 before the Grasshoppers put up four runs while he was on the mound ... Took first loss of the year on May 24 at Asheville, surrendering one run on two hits over 2.2 innings ... On June 26 vs. West Virginia, earned first save of the season.
