Full name FRANK JOSEPH HERRMANN...Married, Johanna...Grew up in Rutherford, NJ...Attended Montclair Kimberley Academy where he played football, baseball and basketball...Was a standout football player (QB/Safety) and was recruited by several Big East and Ivy League schools to play football...Opted to attend Harvard and originally planned to play both sports before settling on baseball...Played 3 years at Harvard, going 5-2 w/a 4.34 ERA in 12 games/9GS during his junior year (3CG, 58.0IP, 54H, 28ER, 47K) of 2005...Played for Berkshire in the New England Collegiate Baseball League in summer of 2004...Earned a degree in economics from Harvard in the fall of 2006...16 players have now reached the big leagues from Harvard, the last before Frank was Jeff Musselman in 1990...Frank's a participant in the 2010 CIC Celebrity Golf Classic and the annual Tyson Food Distribution event...He and his wife, Johanna, participated in the first Puppypalooza event at Progressive Field.

?eason never got started as he was limited to just two spring appearances, the last of which came on Feb 25 at Oakland (1.0IP, 5H, 4R/ER)...Developed sore elbow in camp and was diagnosed with a right UCL tear in his right pitching elbow and underwent season-ending surgery on March 31 in New York City (Dr. David Altchek).

2012 Spent most of the campaign at Triple-A Columbus where he was 2-2 with 8 saves and a 4.78 ERA in a team-best 42 relief appearances (52.2IP, 58H, 28ER, 15BB, 58K, .282AVG)...Addition of a knuckle/spike curve ball at mid-season jump-started his campaign...Averaged 9.9 strikeouts per 9.0IP for the Clippers and enjoyed scoreless outings in 8 of his final 10 outings with the Clip Show....Was with the Indians over two stints , August 7-22, and September 2nd thru the end of the season...Went 0-0 with a 4.76 ERA in 4 relief outings (5.2IP, 5H, 3R/ER, .238AVG) over his first stint and appeared in 11 games in Sept/Oct with the Tribe.
