Was originally signed by Houston as an 18-year old, non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic on May 30, 2006...signed by Astros scouts Julio Linares and Sergio Beltre...Has been outrighted off the Astros 40-man roster twice in his career since originally having his contract selected from the minors on Nov. 19, 2010...was outrighted on Nov. 2, 2012 and again added on Aug.7, 2013...outrighted for the second time on Oct. 17, 2013...Is currently signed to a minor league contract for the 2014 season...invited to Major League Spring Training on Jan. 14, 2014.

2013

Rookie reliever appeared in 11 games for the Astros across two stints...was selected from Triple A OKC on Aug. 7 and made two appearances before being optioned on Aug. 13...recalled on Sept. 1 and made nine appearances in September...posted a 4.32 ERA (4ER/8.1IP) in his Sept. outings...made his Major League debut on Aug. 9 vs. TEX (2ER/1.1IP)...went 0-3 with 12 saves and a 3.46 ERA (25ER/67.2IP) in 41 games (three starts) combined between OKC (12g) and Double A Corpus Christi (29g)...began the year with Corpus Christi and collected six saves, while posting a 4.27 ERA (25ER/52.2IP) before being promoted to OKC on July 25...made five scoreless appearances at OKC (7.1IP) before his selection to the Astros...including his two stints at Triple A OKC, was 6-for-6 in save opportunities and owned a 0.60 ERA (1ER/15IP).

Was at Astros Major League Spring Training for his second consecutive season and made two appearances in the Spring, picking up one save and posting a 4.50 ERA (1ER/2IP)...optioned to minor league camp on March 13...began his regular season in Class A Advanced Lancaster's bullpen...made 13 of his first 14 appearances out of the bullpen thru May 9...would make 13 straight starts from May 12-July 19...moved back to the bullpen for his final 13 appearances, posting three saves and a 4.67 ERA (9ER/17.1IP) over that time span...outrighted off the Astros 40-man roster on Nov. 12 and became a free agent...re-signed with Houston to a minor league contract on Nov. 22.

2011 Pitched the entire season out of Class A Lexington's bullpen, serving as athe club's primary closer...ranked second among all Astros minor leaguers with 16 saves (in 20 opportunities), trailing only RHP Kirk Clark (Class A Lancaster)...set career highs in every pitching category, as the 2011 campaign was his second year as a pitcher and his first above a shortseason affiliate...spent some of Spring Training with the Astros, appearing in five games and allowing six runs in 4.1 innings (12.46 ERA)...optioned to minor league camp on March 14 and assigned to Lexington for the regular season...had one stint on the 7-day DL from May 19-29...pitched for the Leones del Escogido in the Dominican Winter League and finished with no record and a 2.16 ERA (2ER/8.1IP) in nine appearances 2010 Went 2-1 in his first season as a pitcher... was converted from an infielder after the 2009 season... was 6-for-8 in save opportunities with his six saves ranking second on the Tri-City team behind only Michael Ness's seven... his 0.64 ERA was the lowest among all Tri-City pitchers (min. 10 g)... struck out 29 batters during the season while walking 12. 2009 Split time between Tri-City and Lexington, combining to hit .206 (39x189) with 16 RBI in 66 games 2008 Spent the season with the Greeneville Astros of the Appalachian League, where he hit .235 over 32 games...hit .343 over 43 at-bats in the month of July...slugged his lone home run of the season on July 27 against Bristol. 2007 Hit .190 with two homers and 17 RBI in 52 games with the Dominican Summer League Astros...knocked in three runs against the Angels on July 14...plated three against the Braves on June 5 2006 Played in 56 games in the Dominican Summer League and hit .230 (42x183) with three homers and 19 RBI.
