Yamaico (Perez) Navarro...Was ranked by Baseball America as Boston's 9th-best prospect prior to the 2009 season - the 6th-best position player. 2012 Began the season with Pittsburgh, batting .178/.255/.244 through May 27 ... Set career-highs with two hits, two runs, a home run and 3 RBI, April 30 vs. ATL ... Sent to Triple-A Indianapolis, where he batted .275/.359/.490 in 60 games before being recalled to Pittsburgh ... Appeared in four games for the Pirates, August 17-21, going 0-for-5 ... Sent back to Triple-A for his final six games of the season, where he went 7-for-22 ... Batted .286/.384/.503 in 161 AB vs. RHP at Triple-A ... Hit .296/.416/.549 over 71 AB in 23 July games for Indianapolis. 2011 Hit .264 (58-for-220) with seven homers and 22 RBI in 59 minor league games and .250 (15-for-60) with a homer and nine RBI in 22 Major League games between two organizations...Began season with Pawtucket (Red Sox' AAA), where he made nine appearances at third base, eight in right field, seven at shortstop, five at second base, three in left field and one in center field...Also went 3-for-9 with a home run in two games as the designated hitter...Hit safely in nine of his first 11 games (15-for-42, .357) and hit .320 in 20 games during the month of April...Homered twice on 5/2 vs. Toledo...Was recalled by Boston on 6/30 and homered in his first at bat with the Red Sox on 7/2 at Houston; connected off J.A.
