Danny Valencia is scheduled to start a rehab assignment Monday and should come off the disabled list for the road trip starting May 6 at Baltimore, A's manager Bob Melvin said Sunday.

Following a detour from Colorado Springs to Nashville to grab his passport, Tyler Ladendorf arrived in Toronto on Friday in time to join the A's for their series opener against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.

Daniel Paul Valencia…during his time at Spanish River High School, earned three-time first-team AllPalm honours…named team MVP, first-team All-County, and second-team All-State as a senior; Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-County, and second team All-State as a junior; and team MVP and first-team All-Palm Beach County honours as a sophomore…named Freshman of the Year by the Southern Conference Sports Media Association and second-team All-Southern Conference selection while at UNC-Greensboro after hitting .338 with eight home runs, 36 RBI and 39 runs scored in 55 games…transferred to the University of Miami…named to the All-Regional team as a sophomore in 2005 after batting .300 with six home runs, 15 doubles, 63 RBI and 39 runs scored in 60 games (56 starts at first base and two starts at third base)…batted .324 with nine home runs and 61 RBI as a junior.
