Went 3-7 with a 4.88 ERA (30 ER in 55.1 IP) in 10 starts with Miami... Placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 27 with a strained right groin and missed the rest of the season... Won 2 of his first 3 starts, including his season debut on April 5 @ Mets (0 ER in 6.0 IP)…went 1-6 with a 5.17 ERA (22 ER in 38.1 IP) in his fi nal 7 starts... Claimed off waivers by D-backs on Oct. 4.

2012 Appeared in just 17 games for Triple-A New Orleans due to three separate trips to Minor League disabled list...First stint was from May 24-June 2 (right groin strain), second was from June 30-August 23 (left oblique strain), and last was from August 24-September 19 (right shoulder strain); did not appear for rest of season after third reinstatement...Won three of first five starts for NOLA, going 7.0 innings three times. Was 3-0 with a 1.65 ERA (32.2 IP/6 ER) over that span...Lost or did not factor in next six starts (0-4), including a complete-game (8.0 innings) effort on May 7 at Iowa in which he allowed one run on two hits and a walk, with seven strikeouts...Won three consecutive starts from June 8-19, then took loss in final three starts of season. 2011 Missed majority of season with a right elbow strain; went on a rehab assignment on July 22 in first of three starts for Gulf Coast League Marlins...Reinstated from disabled list on August 6 and reported to single-A Jupiter. Promoted to triple-A New Orleans on August 16 and made four starts for Zephyrs over final two weeks of minor league schedule...Went at least 5.0 innings in each triple-A start, including a season-best 6.0 in first start, August 18 vs. Colorado Springs...Recalled by Florida on September 6 and made three appearances, including two starts...First appearance was in relief on September 9 at Pittsburgh; allowed one hit with two walks and two strikeouts over a scoreless seventh inning...Made first start in second game of September 15 doubleheader vs. Philadelphia, holding Phillies to one run on six hits (one home run) with five strikeouts in Marlins' 2-1, 10-inning loss...Earned second start on September 24 at Milwaukee and allowed three runs on six hits (one home run) with a walk and one strikeout over 4.0 innings. 2010 Split the majority of the season between double-A Jacksonville and Florida, while also making a quick two-game stop at triple-A New Orleans ... In the minors, posted a combined record of 6-1 with a 1.92 ERA (98.1 IP/21 ER) in 16 starts, while at the Major League level he went 5-3 with a 3.73 ERA in 15 games, which included 12 starts. Tossed a combined 170.2 innings, marking the highest single-season ininngs pitched total of his career. His previous was only 104.1 in 2009 at Jupiter ... Began the season with the Suns, posting a 5-1 mark and 2.03 ERA (84.1 IP/19 ER) in 14 starts. Earned wins in each of his first five decisions to start the season before taking his first loss on May 29 vs. Chattanooga. In that game he allowed just two runs on three hits with one walk and three strikeouts over 7.0 innings as the Suns were held to just one run in the game ... Did not allow more than three runs in any of his Jacksonville starts and held opponents to one or fewers runs six times ... Tossed 6.0-or-more innings in all but three of his outings, and went 7.0 innings four times ... He earned Southern League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week ending May 2 after posting a 1-0 record and 1.38 ERA (13.0 IP/2 ER) in two starts. He struck out 14 while walking only two in his starts ... Had his contract selected by Florida on June 22 ... Made his Major League debut on June 24 at Baltimore, allowing two runs on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts over 3.1 innings ... Took his first career loss against the New York Mets on June 30 at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Surrendered two runs (one earned) on three hits with two strikeouts over 2.0 innings ... On July 11 at Arizona, made his first ML start, holding the Diamondbacks scoreless over 3.1 innings, allowing five hits while walking one and striking out two.
