Andrew Jeffrey Schugel (pronounced "SHOO-ghoul")...Is a 2007 graduate of Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch, CO... Was selected by San Diego in the 33rd round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign...Attended Central Arizona College...Was named 2010 NJCAA All-Region 1 and to the 2010 ACCAC All-Conference Team as an infielder.

2016

Began season with Triple-A Indianapolis and made season debut in game two of a doubleheader on 4/10 at Columbus (1.0ip/0r)...Was selected by Pittsburgh on 4/13 and pitched 2.1 scoreless innings that night vs. Detroit...Was charged with one earned run in his first four appearances (6.1ip) thru 4/20 before giving up a season-high five runs (four earned) in 1.1ip on 4/23 at Arizona...
