Acquired from Atlanta in a four-player deal, July 30, 2012, Arodys has spent the past two seasons recovering from Tommy John surgery performed during Spring Training of 2012... Made 17 relief appearances for the Braves in 2011, his first career big league action, going 1-1 with a 4.67 ERA (9 ER/17.1 IP)... Is 19-15 with a 2.91 ERA (87 ER/268.2 IP) in 65 career minor league appearances (50 starts) in four professional campaigns… has recorded 279 strikeouts and only 68 walks in 268.2 minor league innings, an average of 9.3 strikeouts and 2.3 walks per 9.0 innings... Baseball America named him the fourth-best Cubs prospect heading into 2013 ... named the 10th-best prospect in the organization following the season... Entered 2012 rated the second-best prospect in the Braves system and the 40th-best prospect in all of baseball by Baseball America... Entered the 2011 season rated the seventh-best prospect in the Braves organization by Baseball America … the publication also ranked him the sixthbest prospect in the South Atlantic League with the best curveball in the Braves farm system... Acquired by the Braves along with three international bonus pool slots (No. 2, No. 3, No. 4) from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for infielder Tommy La Stella on November 16, 2014. Returned to the majors for the first time since undergoing "Tommy John" surgery in March of 2012 afterbeing promoted to the Cubs on 9/2. Made his first appearance as a Cub on 9/6 vs. PIT, allowing one run in 1.0 inning. It was his first Major League outing since 9/27/11 vs. PHI while with Atlanta (a span of 1,075 days between MLB games). Combined to go 1-1 with two saves and a 3.51 ERA (16 ER/41.0 IP) in 40 relief appearances spanningthree minor league levels, while striking out 42 and walking 18. Pitched in five games for Chicago, and posted a 5.40 ERA (3 ER/5.0 IP). He walked three and struck out four, while he held opponents to a .263 average (5-for-19). Opened the season with Single-A Daytona, and pitched to a 1.00 ERA (1 ER/9.0 IP) in nine outings. Hewalked four and struck out 10, and held opponents to a .194 average. Joined Double-A Tennessee on 5/7 and went 1-1 with one save and a 2.63 ERA (4 ER/13.2 IP) in 14 outings. He struck out 16 compared to three walks and opponents batted .149. Arodys began the season rehabbing his arm following Tommy John surgery he underwent in Spring Training of 2012 ... had arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow in late May to clear out a calcium buildup that sidelined him for the remainder of the season - the procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews ... on the 60-day disabled list from March 27-November 4.

2012 Arodys entered the 2012 season rated the second-best prospect in the Braves organization and the 40th-best prospect in all of baseball by Baseball America ... missed the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on March 20 by Dr. James Andrews ... acquired by Chicago in a four-player deal on July 30...Made just one Spring Training appearance for the Braves, March 3 vs. Detroit, tossing a scoreless inning before he was shut down. ...Placed on the 15-day disabled list by Atlanta, March 26 ... transferred to the 60-day D.L. by Chicago, August 19. 2011 Entered 2012 rated as the second-best prospect in the Braves organization by Baseball America...Went a combined 5-5 with a 3.06 ERA between Lynchburg (A), Mississippi (AA) and Gwinnett (AAA) over 26 appearances (17 starts).
