Right-hander with a fastball/slider repertoire that has yielded 11.7 strikeouts per nine innings while opposing batters have hit just .183 against him in his five-year professional career...His 11.7 strikeouts-per-nine rank in the top 15 of Minor League baseball since 2012...Was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels on Dec. 10, 2016, along with RHP Kyle McGowin, in exchange for INF Danny Espinosa...He was added to the Angels 40-man roster on Nov. 18, 2016...2017 will mark his first Major League Spring Training.

2016

Entered the season rated as the No. 19 prospect in Los Angeles' system by Baseball America and their No. 20 prospect by MLB.com...Spent the majority of the season with Double-A Arkansas, posting a 3.05 ERA and a career-best 13.3 strikeouts per nine innings in 32 relief appearances...Matched a career high with four saves...Surrendered just two home runs, his first allowed since the 2014 season...Improved his walks per nine innings (7.7 in 2015, 4.9 in 2016) and walks/hits per innings pitched (1.45 in 2015, 1.22 in 2016)...Following the season, appeared in nine games (0-2, 12.15 ERA, 11 SO, 9 G, 6.2 IP) with Tigres de Aragua of the Venezuelan Winter League.

2015

Opened the season on the Major League roster and bounced between Cleveland and AAA Columbus before sticking
with the Major League club from June 23 through the end of the season...Was with Cleveland for five stints (4/5-9; 4/12-17; 5/16-17; 5/28-6/10; 6/23-on)...Around his five stints in Cleveland he posted 4 saves & a 4.50 ERA in 13 games for the Clippers (12.0IP, 13H, 6R/ER, 7BB, 17K), averaging 12.75 strikeouts per 9.0IP...Made his 2015 debut on April 12 vs. Detroit and worked a career-high 2.2IP...Recorded his first Major League win
on July 22 at Milwaukee and recorded his first save with a scoreless 12th inning of a 6-3 win on May 31 at Seattle...Worked at least 1.1IP in 12 of 28 outings for CLE(17 scoreless)...Yielded only 1 run over his first six games with Cleveland covering 9.1IP...From his June 23 recall thru the end of the season he was 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA over 21 outings (22.0IP, 29H, 11R/ER, 9BB, 16SO)...Batters hit .300 (21-70) off him with runners on base and .317 (13-41) with runners in scoring position...Over his last 8 games he recorded an ERA of 3.24 (8.1IP, 9H, 3R/ER).

Spent most of the season in Triple-AAA Columbus, going 3-2 with 5 saves (6 chances) and a 2.50 ERA in 42 relief outings (54.0IP, 44H, 15ER, 16BB, 52K, .224 AVG)...Spent three stints with the Major League club in his first taste of big league action in his 6th professional season....Was with the Major League club from July 11-20, July 31-August 1 and from September 1 thru the end of the season....Made his Major League debut on July 12 vs. Chicago-AL (0.1IP , 3H, 3R/E R) as he allowed runs in 3 of his 6 Major League outings....In September with the Tribe he appeared in 3 games (3.2IP, 4H, 3R/ E R).

Over his last 30 outings at Trip le-A from May 7-August 31 he posted an E RA of 1.34 (40.1 IP, 30H, 6E R, 40K ) that lowered his season ERA from 5.93 to 2.50...Enjoyed a 20.0 inning scoreless streak from May 29-July 26 covering 15 appearances....Went 20 games from May 29-August 16 where he allowed 1 run (1 ER) over 26.1IP (12 hits)...Limited Triple-A right-handed hitters to a .211 (23-109) mark as batters hit .216 (19-88) w/runners on and .212 (11-52) with RISP .... Listed by Baseball America as having the Best Fastball in the organization entering 2015.

2013

Spent the entire season at AA Akron after missing the previous year (shoulder surgery)...Spent the season in a relief role, tossing 34 scoreless outings out of 45 and limiting batters to a .215 (44-205) with 12.44 SO per 9.0IP....Allowed only 3 HR in 55.0 innings of work as right-handed batters hit just .158 (18-114) off him (.505OPS)....Lefties hit .286 w/ an .832 OPS....Batters hit .195 (22-113) with runners on and .187 (14-75) with RISP...Did not allow a run from May 26-June 23 (10 games, 11.1IP), exactly one year removed from major shoulder surgery...Added to 40-man roster on November 20...Named 10th best prospect in system entering 2014 by Baseball America.

2012

Missed the entire season after undergoing right shoulder surgery on 5/23 by Dr. Craig Morgan (labrum/rotator cuff repair)...Reported to Major League camp as a non-roster invitee and did not pitch due to shoulder soreness in big league camp... Named the 8th best prospect in the Indians organization entering 2012 according to Baseball America.

2011 Spent the entire season at AA Akron where he went 11-10 with a 3.77 ERA in 26 starts (136.0IP, 147H, 57ER, 63BB, 131K)...Ranked tied for 2nd in the Eastern League in wins (11), tied for 3rd in starts (26), 6th in strikeouts and 11th in ERA...Was 2nd in the Indians farm system in strikeouts (131)...Was 3-2 w/a 1.78 ERA in 6 May starts (30.1IP, 27H, 6ER, 33K) and was an Eastern League All-Star selection...Over his last 10 starts from July 8th thru the end of the season he was 6-2 w/a 3.05 ERA (62.0IP, 66H, 21ER)...LH hitters batted .276 off him and RH hitters batted .285. ..
