While at Cal State-Stanislaus, was selected to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-America second team in 2008...named West Region Pitcher of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. 2012 Spent the majority of the year with Double-A Montgomery...averaged 10.23 SO/9 IP, 3rd highest among Southern League relievers...started the season with Triple-A Durham and allowed runs in 5 of 7 apps before being transferred to Montgomery on April 30...allowed runs in 5 of his first 8 apps with Montgomery but pitched to a 3.02 ERA (50.2-IP, 17-ER) over his final 33 apps. 2011 Spent the majority of the year with Double-A Montgomery...had the highest SO/9 IP ratio (11.65), 3rd-lowest opp avg. (.204) and 5th-lowest base runners per 9 IP ratio (11.54) among all Southern League relievers...had a three-day stint with Triple-A Durham, July 19-21...between the two levels threw a career-high 82.2 innings...in Montgomery had a 2.31 ERA (46.2-IP, 12-ER) in the first half compared to a 5.35 ERA (33.2-IP, 20-ER) in the second half...posted a 2.64 ERA (47.2-IP, 14-ER) at home compared to 4.96 ERA (32.2-IP, 18-ER) on the road...Baseball America chose him as the Best Changeup in the Southern League and in the Rays system. 2010 Spent the season with Class-A Charlotte... had the highest SO/9 IP ratio (11.94) and lowest opp avg.
