2015

Had six different stints with the Rays and started 26 games (10-RF, 9-CF, 5-LF, 2-DH), 22 of those against left-handed starters...led the team with a .353 (24-for-63) avg. from his Sep 1 call up through season's end...also led the club with 6 HR, .706 SLG and 1.103 OPS during that time...those numbers led all major league rookies after Sep 1 (excluding HR)...didn't hit a home run in his last 19 games at Triple-A Durham before the September call up…For the month of September, his .356 avg. was the 2nd highest ever posted by a Rays rookie in a calendar month, trailing Rocco Baldelli in April 2003 (.368)…Overall for the season, led all AL rookies (min. 100 AB) with a .619 SLG and .970 OPS and ranked 3rd with a .295 batting avg…The Rays were 17-9 in his 26 starts and 25-16 in games he played…Finished with 5 HR in his final 23 AB...that stretch included homering in 4 straight starts-the first Rays rookie to do that and just the fifth Rays player ever, joining Carlos Peña (6, 2010), Julio Lugo (4, 2003), Jose Canseco (5, 1999) and Fred McGriff (4 straight in 1999)…On Sep 18 vs. BAL, set a Rays rookie record with 5 hits, going 5-for-5 with 2 doubles...tied the Rays franchise record (eighth time) and became just the third Ray with a 5-hit game at Tropicana Field, joining Melvin Upton Jr. on Oct 2, 2009 vs. NYY (cycle) and Ben Zobrist, who went 5-for-7 in a 14-inning, 10-8 loss on June 10, 2013 vs. BOS… Mahtook's 5-hit game occurred in the 28th game of his career...over the last three seasons (2013-15) only one player has achieved this faster: PIT Gregory Polanco, who went 5-for-7 in his fourth career game on June 13, 2014 at MIA...Ted Williams didn't record 5 hits until his 819th career game...he was the only major league rookie with a 5-hit game in 2015…Batted .349 (22-for-63) vs. the AL East, 2nd among rookies (min. 50 AB) behind TEX Delino DeShields Jr. (.354)…His only career outfield assist earned No. 1 Web Gem on ESPN's Baseball Tonight...on Sep 14 vs. NYY, he made a leaping catch at the RF wall and started a 9-6 double play to end the 7th and keep Erasmo Ramirez's no-hit bid intact...robbed Brian McCann of extra bases and threw out Brett Gardner on the play…His 9 HR are the 2nd most by a Ray through his first 41 career games, trailing Elijah Dukes (10, 2007)…His first 2 hits were home runs: April 15 at TOR (Mark Buehrle) and June 7 at SEA (Mike Montgomery)...joined Dukes (2007) as the only players in franchise history to have both his first 2 career hits go for homers…Hit 3 HR in 7 AB off TOR Mark Buehrle, a 214-game winner and 15-game winner in 2015...the only other player with 3 HR in a season against Buehrle was MIN Matt LeCroy in 2005…On Sep 14-16 vs. NYY, became the first Ray with a SB in 3 straight games since Ben Zobrist did it July 18-20, 2012…For the second consecutive year, started at all three outfield positions for Durham...had 7 outfield assists in only 93 games…Enters 2016 ranked by Baseball America as the Rays No. 6 prospect, as well as Best Strike-Zone Judgment in the system and the IL.

Enjoyed the best season of his three-year minor league career...named MVP of Triple-A Durham after leading the club in avg. (.292), hits (143), triples (6), RBI (68, which led Rays farmhands) total bases (228), SLG (.458), OBP (362) and SB (18)...didn't hit a home run until his 36th game, but still finished a career-high 12...Ranked 5th in the International League in hits and 4th in total bases (224)...Started 71 games in CF, 38 in RF and 18 in LF...Batted .387 vs. left-handed pitching, 2nd in the IL (min. 100 AB) behind Phil Gosselin (.398) of Gwinnett (Braves)...Was one of only three IL players with a dozen or more steals and homers...the others were new teammate Steven Souza Jr. of Syracuse (Nationals) and Tyler Collins of Toledo (Tigers)...Had 11 straight hits (and a walk) over 3 games, April 13-15, all on the road...raised his average from .237 to .408...included a 5-hit and a 4-hit game vs. Charlotte (White Sox)...the IL record is 15 straight, set in 1929...Named the Rays Minor League Player of the Month for May, after batting .351 (33-for-94) with 15 2B, 2 HR, 19 RBI and 9 runs...Named to the IL's midseason All-Star Team...Enters 2015 ranked by Baseball America as the Rays No. 8 prospect, up from No. 25 the previous winter...the publication also named him Best Strike-Zone Judgment in the system and the IL.

2013

Spent the season with Double-A Montgomery and hit .254 (130-for-511)…hit 30 doubles, 8 triples and 7 home runs and added 68 RBI, 3rd most among Rays minor leaguers…stole 25 bases in 33 attempts…led the Biscuits in runs scored (71), stolen bases (25) and doubles (30)…batted .289 (58-for-201) starting July 1 raising his average from .232 to .254.

2012

In his first professional season, played in 92 games with Class-A Charlotte before a promotion to Montgomery…ranked 9th in the Florida State League with a .290 (99-for-341) batting average and was named an FSL midseason All-Star…compiled 25 RBI in 39 games with Montgomery…ranked by Baseball America as the No. 12 prospect in the Rays organization entering 2013
