Split time between Triple-A and Atlanta, starting the season with Gwinnett before earning a promotion to Atlanta on 4/23, the first of three stints in the Majors. Suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee after a collision with Jason Heyward on 8/14 and missed the remainder of the season after undergoing successful surgery by Dr. Marvin Royster on 8/19. Made his first career defensive appearance as an outfielder (CF) on 7/12 vs. CIN, replacing the injured Justin Upton in the 8th inning. Compiled two hits in 10 at-bats (.200) as a pinch hitter with Atlanta, scoring two runs. Hit .292 (84-for-288) in 74 games with Gwinnett, second highest on the club among players with over 300 plate appearances.

2012 Opened the season as ATL's starting shortstop before being optioned to GWI on May 31...Hit his first home run on 4/10 at HOU off Kyle Weiland...Was recalled on July 14 from GWI (AAA): .268 (41-for-153), 15 doubles, 20 RBI and three SB in 38 games. Optioned to GWI on May 31 after opening the season as ATL's starting shortstop...Notched his first hit in his Major League debut April 5 at NYM with a triple off NYM's Ramon Ramirez...Made first career start at second base on August 22 at WSH, it was his first start since being recalled July 14...Had his nine-game hitting streak snapped on May 22 at CIN (.314, 11-for-35)...Hit his first career pinch-hit homer on July 31 vs. MIA, it was his third career pinch hit...Appeared in seven games for Toros del Este in the Dominican Winter League (.250, 6-for-24)...Entered 2012 rated as the seventh-best prospect in the Braves organization by Baseball America. 2011 Enters 2012 rated as the seventh-best prospect in the Braves organization by Baseball America...Was named the Best Hitter for Average in the Braves organization by Baseball America...Combined to hit .314 (144-for-459) with 7 home runs, 45 RBI and 27 stolen bases between Mississippi (AA) and Gwinnett (AAA)...Led Double-A Mississippi with 20 stolen bases, T1st with five triples and ranked second with a .299 batting average...Was named Mississippi's Player of the Year (.299, 6 HR, 36 RBI in 90 games)...Had his contract purchased on 9/28 from Gwinnett, but did not appear in a Major League game...Ranked third in the Braves farm system in batting average (.314) and second in stolen bases (27). His .299 batting average with Mississippi ranked 10th in the Southern League. 2010 Enters 2011 rated as the 14th-best prospect in the Braves organization according to Baseball America...Acquired by the Braves along with SS Alex Gonzalez and LHP Tim Collins in exchange for SS Yunel Escobar and LHP Jo-Jo Reyes on 7/14...Promoted to Mississippi (AA) upon being acquired...Before being acquired by Atlanta, hit .258 with 16 doubles, three home runs, 35 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 77 games for Dunedin, Toronto's High-A affiliate...In 38 games for Mississippi, hit .254 with five doubles, two triples, two home runs, 15 RBI and 11 SB...Hit .278 (15-for-54) with one double, one triple and six RBI in 15 games for the Phoenix Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League...Was selected to the Arizona Fall League's Rising Stars Game and started at shortstop for the East Squad. 2009 Combined to hit .269 with 14 2B, one HR and 34 RBI between Lansing (Low-A) and Dunedin (High- A)...His 57 combined stolen bases ranked second in the Blue Jays organization and his 51 stolen bases at Lansing ranked second in the Midwest League...Was named Star of the Month for May with Lansing (.289, 11 RBI, 14 SB). 2008 Signed on 6/9 and started at shortstop in his first professional game on 6/19 at GCL Phillies...Recorded his first professional hit on 6/24 at GCL Tigers.
