Appeared in 23 games over five stints (May 23, June 6-9, June 12-22, Aug 17-18 and Aug 20-season's end), his first major league action since his debut on Sep 22, 2013 vs. BAL...spent the remainder of the season with Triple-A Durham…On May 23 vs. OAK, his first outing of the season, became the first Rays pitcher to allow 4 walks in an inning since Erik Bedard on April 24, 2014 vs. MIN (1st)...tied a club record by issuing 4 consecutive walks (third time, last Mitch Talbot on Sep 28, 2008 at DET)...was the first Rays reliever to allow 5 BB in an app since Jeff Bennett on Sep 7, 2009 at NYY (Game 2)…Lefties hit .372/.426/.488 (16-for-43) against him, compared to .247/.329/.288 (18-for-73) vs. righties…In 15 apps betwen Aug 17 and Sep 27, compiled a 2.12 ERA (17-IP, 4-ER)…Picked up his first career loss Sep 13 vs. BOS, when he loaded the bases on three straight singles before exiting...two Red Sox later came around to score…Threw the fastest pitch by a Ray in 2015, registering 99.3 mph on Sep 4 at NYY...averaged 96.1 mph on his fastball, per FanGraphs...enters the 2016 season rated by Baseball America as the Best Fastball in the Rays system…Began the season in Durham's rotation, and moved to the bullpen after 3 starts...didn't pitch his first game until May 10 due to a left shoulder strain…Made 11 relief apps for Escogido of the Dominican Winter League after the season, helping them win their fourth Dominican Winter League title in seven years...his teammates included Alex Colome Taylor Motter.

Spent the entire season at Triple-A Durham…his 11 losses were the most by a Bulls pitcher since Doug Waechter lost 12 games in 2006...Pitched for the World team in the Futures Game for the third consecutive season, the first Rays player to appear in three…worked one scoreless inning at Minnesota's Target Field...In 8 starts for Durham following his All-Star Game appearance, he was 2-1 and the Bulls were 6-2 in those 8 starts while he pitched to a 2.32 ERA…in 17 starts before the break he was 3-10 with a 5.62 ERA...Pitched a season-high 7 innings in his final start of the year, an 11-inning, 1-0 Bulls win on Aug 29 at Norfolk (Orioles)…combined on a onehitter with three relievers…also earned a 1-0 win on Aug 7 at Buffalo (Blue Jays) in which he allowed only one hit in 6 innings...His 117 strikeouts were 5th most among Rays minor leaguers...Opponents batted .261, highest of his career...For the third straight year, left-handed hitters had a higher mark against him (.342) than righties (.235)...Ten of the 14 HR he allowed in the regular season and postseason combined came in the 1st or 2nd innings...Made 2 postseason starts and was 0-1…suffered a 3-2 loss in Game 1 of the best-of-five Governors' Cup series vs. Pawtucket (Red Sox)...Made 10 apps with the Leones del Escogido of the Dominican Winter League following the season.

2013

After a breakout season with Double-A Montgomery, he earned a September cup of coffee with Triple-A Durham and then in the majors…made 27 starts for Montgomery, 1 start for Durham (plus a postseason relief outing) and 1 start for the Rays... Recalled by the Rays on Sep 22 and made his major league debut that day vs. BAL…in the start, held the Orioles to 1 hit over 4.2 scoreless innings (4-BB, 0-SO, 70 pitches)…the only hit was a Manny Machado single to lead off the game…became the second Rays starter to not allow a run in his debut, joining Scott Kazmir on Aug 23, 2004... Joined David Price (2008) and Matt Moore (2011) as Rays lefties to make their first major league start on Sep 22... At 22, was the youngest player on the Rays roster during his time with the team, six weeks younger than Wil Myers... Ranked the No. 4 prospect in the Rays system by Baseball America after the season, rising from No. 8 entering the year…also chosen as Best Slider in the organization... Appeared in the Futures Game for the second straight year, the first Rays pitcher to make that claim…position players Desmond Jennings, Delmon Young and B.J. Upton were each named to the team twice…in the game held at Citi Field, pitched the 2nd inning for the World team and allowed 1 R/ER on 2 hits with 2 SO... Named a midseason and postseason Southern League All-Star for Montgomery, going 11-7 with a 2.76 ERA (140.1-IP, 43-ER)…ranked among league leaders in ERA (6th), wins (tied for 2nd), starts (tied for 2nd) and opp avg. (.215, 2nd)... Named Rays Minor League Pitcher of the Month for May…was 4-1 with a 1.34 ERA (33.2-IP, 26-H, 5-ER, 15-BB, 22-SO)... Started for Durham on Sep 2 at Norfolk (Orioles), when he tossed 8.0 scoreless innings (4-H, 2-BB, 2-SO) in the longest start of his career…threw only 91 pitches... Stayed with Durham for the postseason…earned the win in Game 3 of the International League Championship Series (Sep 13) with 2 scoreless innings of relief in a 2-0, 14-inning win at Pawtucket (Red Sox).

2012 In his fifth pro season, spent the year with Class-A Charlotte and went 5-7 with a 3.93 ERA (126-IP, 55-ER) in 25 apps (23 starts)...Ranked second among Florida State League starters with a .208 (84-for-403) opponents' average and 5th with 7.8 SO/9 IP...Held RH hitters to a .189 avg. (58-for-307)...Pitched a scoreless 5th inning for the World team in the Futures Game at Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium during All-Star Week...Entering the 2013 season, was ranked by Baseball America as the Rays No. 8 prospect. 2011 Went 5-5 with a 4.26 ERA (114-IP, 54-ER) and 140 SO in 26 starts with Class-A Bowling Green. 2010 Spent the majority of the 2010 season with Rookie-level Princeton but made one start with Short-A Hudson Valley after a late-season promotion... was named team MVP for Princeton, where he went 4-1 with a 1.95 ERA (69.1-IP, 15-ER) in 13 starts.
