Graduated from Simi Valley High School (California) in 2009 where he hit .390 with 34 RBI during his senior season...led his team to a CIF title in 2008 after hitting .387 with nine homers, 43 RBI and an .802 slugging percentage...named the 2008 Ventura County Star and Daily News Player of the Year...Was selected by the Astros in the supplemental third round of the June 2009 draft...was signed by Astros scout Tim Costic...Was nominated for the Arizona Fall League's 2013 Dernell Stenson Sportsmanship Award, which is given to a player who exemplifies Stenson's qualities of unselfishness, hard work and leadership...Red Sox prospect Garin Cecchini won the award...Meyer was one of six nominees for the award which was created in honor of Stenson, who was murdered while playing in the AFL after the 2003 season...Is signed to a minor league contract for the 2014 season...invited to his first ever Major League Spring Training on Jan. 14, 2014.

Spent the entire year at Double A Corpus Christi where he was named a Texas League Postseason All-Star...in 123 games at third base, posted a .957 fielding percentage (17E/391TC)...led all Texas League third baseman in total chances, assists (293) and tied for the league lead in double plays (28)...ranked second among the league's third basemen in fielding percentage...hit .343 (36x105) off lefties...named Corpus Christi's June Player of the Month...tied for the club lead with two four-hit games (May 13 vs. San Antonio, Aug. 29 at Frisco)...led the club with three last at-bat wins...on Aug. 2 vs. Midland, hit a walk-off, three-run homer in the 10th inning to give the Hooks a 7-5 victory...hit another walk-off homer, a solo shot in the 9th inning on Aug. 10 vs. Arkansas to give the Hooks a 3-2 win...went back-to-back as Erik Castro homered right before him in that game...had the Hooks longest hitting streak of the season, a 14-gamer from May 27-June 10...played in the Arizona Fall League during the 2013 offseason and hit .286 (14x49) with three doubles, one homer, seven RBI and a .340 on-base percentage...was nominated for the Arizona Fall League's Dernell Stenson Sportsmanship Award, which is given to a player who exemplifies Stenson's qualities of unselfishness, hard work and leadership...Red Sox prospect Garin Cecchini won the award...Meyer was one of six nominees for the award which was created in honor of Stenson, who was murdered while playing in the AFL after the 2003 season.

Spent the entire season with Class A Advanced Lancaster and won two of the club's Defensive Player of the Month awards (April, May)...led California League third basemen in fielding percentage (.954), double plays (24), total chances (369) and putouts (102)...posted a career high 137 hits...helped push the JetHawks to the California League Championship title by hitting .343 with two homers, 10 RBI and a 1.039 OPS in 10 playoff games.

2011

Played at Class A Advanced Lancaster for the whole season...led all California League third basemen in fielding percentage (.953), putouts (88), assists (240) and double plays (29)...named an MiLB.com Organizational All-Star...named Lancaster's Defensive Player of the Month in April and June.
