Christian Stanford Bergman was signed by Rockies scout Jon Lukens … attended St. Francis High School in La Canada, Calif. where he pitched and played shortstop and third base … as a senior, went 10-2 with a 1.54 ERA and batted .343 … was the 2006 Mission League Most Valuable Player and All-California Interscholastic Federation first-team member … attended the University of California, Irvine … earned All-Big West first-team honors his sophomore year after going 5-2 with a 1.94 ERA, including a 0.64 ERA in league action … earned AllBig West second-team honors his junior year after going 9-3 with a 3.50 ERA, 16 walks and 66 strikeouts ... resides in The Woodlands, Texas.

2015

Appeared on his first Opening Day roster, going on to make 26 relief appearances and four starts for Colorado. Made the Opening Day roster for Colorado before being optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque June 10 … was recalled June 18. Placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder fatigue June 30 and reinstated Aug. 1. Went 3-0 with a 4.10 ERA (52.2 IP, 24 ER) in 26 relief appearances, 0-1 with a 6.89 ERA (15.2 IP, 12 ER) in four starts. His last three appearances of the season were all starts … went 0-1 with a 9.26 ERA (11.2 IP, 12 ER). Pitched two or more innings in 18 of his 24 relief appearances, tied for second-most in the Major Leagues. In 19 appearances with one start prior to stint on the disabled list, was 2-0 with a 4.66 ERA (38.2 IP, 20 ER) … went 1-1 with a 4.85 ERA (29.2 IP, 16 ER) in 11 appearances, three starts, after his return from the disabled list … in eight relief appearances after return from the disabled list, was 1-0 with a 2.00 ERA (18.0 IP, 4 ER). Earned the win in his frst Major League relief appearance April 10 in the home opener vs. Chicago-NL … previous 10 career appearances were starts.

Got a taste of the big leagues in 2014, making 10 starts for Colorado...he made his Major League debut on June 9 vs. Atlanta...he was sidelined with a fractured left trapezium and missed 51 games...Took the loss in his MLB debut but allowed just two runs in 6.0 innings...became the 10th Rockie to record a quality start in his Major League debut (last: Christian Friedrich May 9, 2012 at San Diego)...became the second Rockie to start a game in his debut in 2014 (Eddie Butler, June 6 vs. Los Angeles-NL) and the 29th starting pitcher to make his ML debut as a Rockie...In his second career start, Bergman did not issue a walk on June 14 at San Francisco...he is the fourth Rockies starter to go without a walk in either his first and/or second career starts...Tyler Matzek (June 11, 2014), Franklin Morales (Aug. 18, 2007) and Mike Snipe (June 25, 1998) all achieved the feat in their first career starts...on the year, Bergman did not issue a free pass in six of his 10 starts...he is the first Rockies starter to have five or more games of no walks over their first 10 career starts...his 10 walks in his first 10 starts are the fewest walks allowed by a Rockies starter in their first 10 starts...Made five rehab appearances on his way back to Colorado...he began with two starts at Double-A Tulsa allowing a combined three runs over 9.0 innings...he then made three starts for Triple-A Colorado Springs...three of his five rehab starts were at least 6.0 innings including a 7.0 inning game on Aug. 13 at SAC (4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO)...At Triple-A Colorado Springs, he went 4-4 with a 3.84 ERA (75.0 IP, 32 ER) in 12 starts...he went 1-0 with a 2.04 ERA (35.1 IP, 8 ER) in 5 home starts and 3-4 with a 5.45 ERA (39.2 IP, 24 ER) in seven road starts...in a four start stretch (May 3-19), Bergman allowed just one run over 30.0 innings including three starts of at least 8.0 innings...Bergman had a 26.2 consecutive home scoreless innings streak in May (May 3-June 3)...it was the longest home scoreless streak in the 27-year history of the Sky Sox...his streak broke former Sky Sox Colby Ward's 21.1 innings at home without allowing a run, which occurred during the 1990-91 seasons...Bergman also had the fourth-longest overall scoreless streak in Sky Sox history by a starter with 21.2 scoreless frames from April 28-May 13.

Named a Texas League Postseason All-Star and Texas League Mid-Season All-Star after going 8-7 with 3.37 ERA (171.0 IP, 64 ER) over 27 starts at Double-A Modesto...Was named the TL Pitcher of the Week ending 8/4 after limiting ARK on 8/2 to just three hits, while striking out six and walking three to lead the Drillers to a 5-0 win on the road in Springdale...Baseball America labeled him Best Control in the Rockies system following the season.

2012

Named a MiLB.com Organization All-Star, California League Postseason All-Star and CAL Pitcher of the Year after going 16-5 with 3.68 ERA (162.2 IP, 66 ER) over 27 starts at High-A Modesto...His 16 wins were tied for the most in all of MiLB (T.J. McFarland, AAA Columbus)...ranked third in the CAL for ERA and fifth among Rockies full-season hurlers...went 4-0 with a 1.97 ERA in July over five starts (32.0 IP, 7 ER)...ranked 28th-best prospect among Rockies by Baseball America.

2011

Spent the entire season in the starting rotation for Short Season Tri-City where he made 15 starts, including two 9.0-inning complete game shutouts...was named a Northwest League All-Star, NWL Pitcher of the Week (8/15-22), Rockies organizational Pitcher of the Month for August and the Northwest League Postseason Pitcher of the Year after leading the NWL in innings pitched, shutouts, complete games and WHIP and tied for first in wins...also finished third in the NWL in opponent average and ERA...at one point won four straight starts from 7/23-8/9...carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning in Game 1 of the NWL Semifinal series against Boise...in Game 2 of the NWL Finals, he held Vancouver to just two runs over 6.0 innings on the road in an elimination game...his 13.0 innings and 12 strikeout led all NWL pitchers in postseason play.

2010

Spent his first professional season at Rookie Level Casper where he was primarily used as a reliever...made five starts in the middle of the season going 1-3, 5.91 (21.1 IP, 14 ER) compared to 0-1, 6.00 (27.0 IP, 18 ER) in nine relief appearances.
