Originally selected by Chicago in the sixth round of the 2009 draft, Brooks enters his fourth full season in the organization ... made his major league debut August 7, 2012 in San Diego after pitching for Single-A Daytona in 2010, Double-A Tennessee in 2011 and Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa in 2012...In 80 career minor league games (77 starts), is 22-27 with a 3.74 ERA (172 ER/414.0 IP), walking 131 while striking out 280. ...Named the 2012 Cubs Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July after posting a 2.12 ERA (7 ER/29.2 IP) in five starts with Triple-A Iowa ... the 2.12 ERA ranked fourth-lowest among Pacific Coast League pitchers. ...Is the third player from the Cubs 2009 draft class to play in the majors for Chicago, joining first-round selection (31st overall) Brett Jackson and second round pick, D.J.
