Played in 46 games for Memphis (AAA) before a right ankle injury, suffered while sliding into 2nd base on 6/23, sidelined him for the remainder of the season. Made one rehab start at Gulf Coast League level (7/15), going 1-for-1 with a double and walk... Batted over .300 for the fourth consecutive season, posting a .306 mark with 5 HR and 32 RBI... Hit right-handed pitchers at a .366 clip (37-101) with 4 HR and 24 RBI... Batted .362 (17-47) during the month of May... Had three 4-hit games and 15 multi-hit games on the season. Hit safely in 31-of-45 games in which he had an official at-bat... Recorded an RBI in five consecutive games from 5/6-10. Had an RBI in 18 games and multi-RBI in nine of those games... Was 2-for-5 with 3 RBI as a pinch-hitter, including an intentional walk... Rated as the "Best Hitter for Average" in the Cardinals organization by Baseball America's "Best Tools" survey... Underwent right ankle surgery, performed by Dr. Robert Anderson, in August.

Played the entire season at Quad Cities (A), a total of 78 games despite a hamstring injury from 5/11-6/11... declared Midwest League batting champion with a .386 average, while technically 31 plate appearnaces-shy of the qualifying total, his adjusted numbers garnered him the award...was the first Cardinals prospect since Brendan Ryan (2004) to lead the Midwest League in batting...tallied 33 multi-hit games with 17 totaling three hits or more and five four-hit games... twice named MWL Player of the Week for the week of 7/11-17 batting .600 (15-25) with five RBI, 10 runs scored and five multi-hit games; and the week of 8/22-28, when he batted .581 (18-31) with 2 HR, 11 RBI and five multi-hit games including three three-hit games and two four-hit games ...missed hitting for the cycle by a double on 8/28 vs. Burlington, coming off the bench to go 3-for-3 with a home run,

Played in 60 games in his first full season in the states beginning with seven games in the Gulf Coast League before finishing the season with Johnson City, which went on to win the Appalachian League crown...was named an Appalachian League All-Star in the outfield...led the Cardinals in batting (.322), hits (68), home runs (8) and RBI (43)...ranked among Cardinals minor leaguer leaders in batting (.303, T5th) and slugging (.485, 7th)...was among Appy League leaders in batting (3rd), RBI (4th) and slugging (.526, 5th)...hit .362 (42-116) in July, his first month in Johnson City, with eight doubles, six home runs and 28 RBI in 28 games...batted .317 with runners in scoring position and .353 w/RISP and two outs...hit first career grand slam vs. Danville (7/4) off Matthew Lewis...his second grand slam came vs. Burlington (8/9) off Jake Ramsey...batted .500 (8-16) with three doubles and five RBI in the Appy League playoffs...the .500 playoff BA ranked 2nd, while his eight hits were first and his five RBI tied for first.
