Ryan G. Wheeler...attended Loyola Marymount University...graduated from Torrance (Calif.) High School...Originally selected by Arizona in the fifth round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft.

Was acquired by Colorado in exchange for LHP Matt Reynolds on 11/20/12...began the season at Triple-A Colorado Springs and would be named a 2013 Pacific Coast League All-Star... Played in a total of 28 games for the Rockies in 2013, seeing the majority of his time as a pinch-hitter (20 of his 28 games)...hit .263 (5-for-19) with 5 RBI in the pinch... Played in 116 games at Triple-A Colorado Springs, batting .306 (134-for-438) with 29 doubles, 2 triples, 12 home runs, 89 RBI and 74 runs...owned a .814 OPS (.351 OBP, .463 SLG) at Triple-A... Had three separate stints in the Majors with the Rockies, originally being recalled on 4/25...was optioned on 5/5...was recalled again on 8/19 and optioned on 8/27...was recalled for the remainder of the season on 9/3... Started a total of five games for Colorado, three at first base, one at third base and and one in left field... Hit .263 (5-for-19) in his 20 pinch-hit plate appearances...his 20 PH plate appearances were tied for 3rd on the club.

2012 Made his Major League debut on July 20 vs. Houston getting the start at third base. ..collected his first ML hit that saem game. Totaled eight extra-base hits in 50 big-league games after batting .351 (127-for-362) with 15 home runs and 90 RBIs in Triple-A Reno. Got his first ML RBI on 7/28 against the New York Mets with an RBI double...finished the game going 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored. On 8/18 at Houston, hit his first Major League home run off of Chuckie Fick in the 7th inning, a solo shot...Arizona would win the game 12-4. Had a three-RBI game on 9/7 at San Diego going 2-for-4 at the plate with two doubles. Went 25-for-94 (.266) against right-handed pitchers while going 1-for-15 (.067) against lefties. Was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week ending on 4/30...named a PCL Mid- and Postseason All-Star and a MiLB.com Organization All-Star. Following the season and the trade, was rated by Baseball America as Colorado's 10th-best prospect. 2011 Spent the entire season with Double-A Mobile, hitting .294 (141-for-480) with 30 doubles, 16 home runs and 89 RBI in 131 games...named to the Southern League postseason All-Star Team...Ranked among the SL leaders in games played (4th), RBI (4th), hits (T5th), total bases (T6th, 223) and doubles (7th)...also led all SL third basemen in total chances (268)...Made 109 appearances at third base, 16 at first and 2 as designated hitter...Recorded five consecutive multi-hit games from July 17-22 and hit .522 (12-for-23)...named SL Player of the Week for July 18-24...Batted .292 (31-for-106) with 9 doubles and 14 RBI in 28 games with Salt River in the Arizona Fall League...tied for fourth in the AFL in doubles and participated in the Rising Stars Game...was named AFL co-Player of the Week for Oct. 3-9 (also A's Michael Choice). 2010 Combined to hit .280 (149-for-532) with 28 doubles, 12 home runs and 67 RBI in 132 games with Single-A Visalia and Mobile...Entered the season rated by Baseball America as the ninth-best prospect in the D-backs' organization and as having the Best Strike-Zone Discipline. 2009 Named the organization's Position Player of the Year for 2009, hitting .361 (95-for-263) with 21 doubles, 4 triples, 6 home runs and 41 RBI in 72 games between Rookie Yakima and Single-A South Bend...Ranked among Northwest League leaders in on-base percentage (1st, .461), average (2nd, .363), slugging percentage (2nd, .538), doubles (T3rd, 20) and hits (T4th, 85)...was named to the NL postseason All-Star Team...Selected as the NL Player of the Week for July 27-Aug. 2...Named the organization's Player of the Month for August after posting a .382 (39-for-102) average with 13 doubles, a homer, 15 RBI and 15 runs scored...Presented with the Win Clark Award for outstanding play during the 2009 season by Southern California residents by the Association of Professional Ballplayers of America.
