Ryan Matthew Goins. Attended Dallas Baptist College, playing as a position player and pitcher. • His dad and uncle both played in the minor leagues. Participated in Blue Jays 2016 Winter Tour.

2015

Became the first Blue Jays shortstop in club history to record five hits in a game, a career-high on Sept. 30 at BAL-1…Was the first TOR player since Colby Rasmus to have a five-hit game (June 5, 2012 at CWS). Over his final 52 games hit .287 with a .376 OBP & .783 OPS… Walked 25 times over that span after 20-BB over his previous 175 G. Prior to the All-Star break posted a line of .226/.273/.321… Following the break hit .274/.361/.387. His four triples this season was most on the club. Hit his first career walk off home run Sept. 1 vs. CLE… It marked the fourth walk-off HR by a TOR player…Became just the fourth player (fourth time) in club history to hit a walk-off HR out of the nine-hole (John McDonald, Ernie Whitt & Otto Velez). Had a career-high 16 game on base streak from Aug. 16-Sept. 6. Had a career-high 12-game hitting streak from Aug. 26-Sept. 2…Over those games hit .421 (16-38) with 3-2B, HR & 6 RBIs. Recorded his first career stolen base August 29 vs. DET… Had played 197 career games before recording that steal. Knocked in a career-high five RBI June 14 at BOS…Finished the 3-game series with 9-RBI (June 12-14) Made his first career start as an outfielder in left field April 22 vs. BAL. Went hitless in the ALDS, going 0-for-17, reaching base once via a walk…Was just two at-bats shy of matching the LDS hitless record set by Neil Walker of the Pirates in 2013. Hit his first career postseason home run October 19 vs. KC in the 5th inning off of Kris Medlen… It marked the first time a Toronto player has hit a home run out of the nine-hole in the postseason…Joined Roberto Alomar as the only Blue Jays second baseman to hit a home run in the playoffs. Recorded three RBI in game three of the ALCS; along with Troy Tulowitzki and Josh Donaldson became the first Blue Jays trio to each drive in three runs in a playoff game in club history. His three sacrifice hits were most among all hitters through in the 2015 postseason.

Committed just one error in 241 total chances this season (.996 fielding percentage)...Has committed just two errors in his 393 Total Chances over his career (.995 fielding percentage)...Finished 2nd among 2nd baseman with at least 55 games at the position in fielding percentage at .995, (Pedroia, .997)...Finished T-2nd on the team with three triples, one behind Reyes for team the team lead (4)...Had a season-high five-game hit streak from April 26-July 25...Was recalled from Buffalo Sept. 2, his 3rd stint with TOR this year...Made his first career Opening Day roster this year...Batted .150 with a .203 OBP prior to his demotion April 28...Had a career-high 4-hit, 4-RBI game July 28 at BOS...Those four hits tied the team's season-high (6x, 4 players)...Hit his 1st and only HR of the season (1R off Tillman) April 23 vs. BAL...Appeared in 97 total games for the Bisons, including 59 games at SS and 49 at 2B.

2013

Was named the R. Howard Webster Award winner at the AAA level. Began his Major League career with an eight-game hit streak (August 23-31) tying the club record set by Jesse Barfield in 1981 for longest hit streak by a rookie to begin their major league career. Committed just one error in 148 total chances at 2B this season with the Blue Jays. In 262.1 innings at second base, posted a .993 fielding percentage, the 3rd highest in the AL among second basemen from his debut until the end of the season…Over that stretch, he also posted the 2nd highest zone rating among AL second basemen at .876. Made his Major League debut on Aug. 23 at HOU going 2-4 with a double…Collected his 1st base hit in his 3rd at-bat vs. Lyles. Aug. 22 was recalled from Buffalo (AAA)…Hit .257 (97-377) with 22-2B, 1-3B, 6-HR & 46-RBI in 111 games with the Bisons.

2012 Spent the season with New Hampshire (AA)...Led the Eastern League with 158 hits and his 33 doubles and a .289 average were team highs... Had four hits on three seperate occasions...Posted a .338 average with runners in scoring position on his way to registering career highs in most offensive categories...Batted .366 over the first four innings of a contest and .215 from the 5th inning on...Named a Post-Season Eastern League All-Star...Played in the Arizona Fall league for Salt River, posting a .133 average with one double and five RBI in 13 games. 2011 Spent the season wih Dunedin of the Flordia State League (A)... ANCHOR THE INFIELD: All but one of his starts came as the shortstop, with the other as a DH... Made 16 errors for a .967 fielding percentage... COMES IN TWO's: Recorded 31 multi-hit games, with all but three being two-hit contests... A CONSISTENT EFFORT: Over his last two full seasons has potsed 33 and 32 extra base hits in each season... MAY DAYS: Recorded his best month with a .344 average with 10 extra base hits and 12 walks. 2010 Began the season at Lansing (Low-A), prior to finishing his season in Dunedin (High-A)... Recorded his first professional home run on opening day, in his first at-bat of the season... Batted .300+ in each month except April with Lansing... Batted only .125 in July in his Dunedin debut before settling in and posting a .267 in August. 2009 Made his debut splitting time between Rookie, Short season-A and Low-A... Combined to hit .246 with 10 extra-base hits.
