Single … Twitter: @InoaMichael.  Attended Liceo Jose Dubeau in Puerto Plata.  Was the top international free agent when he signed with Oakland at age 16 on 7/2/08 … received a then-record $4.25-million signing bonus.

2016

Split the season between the White Sox and Class AAA Charlotte … threw 1.1 IP or more in nine of his 23 outings with the Sox … recorded at least one strikeout 18 times.  Limited right-handers to a .153 average (9-59) … first batters faced went just 3-19 (.158) … allowed 3-9 (33.3 percent) of inherited runners to score.  Worked 8.1 scoreless IP in September (six outings).  Was recalled from Class AA Birmingham on 4/10, replacing Adam Eaton (Paternity List) on the active roster … was optioned back to the Barons on 4/11 without making an appearance.  Was recalled from Charlotte on 6/14 and made his majorleague debut that night vs. Detroit, working 2.0 scoreless IP … recorded his first career strikeout in the seventh (Ian Kinsler).  Worked a scoreless eighth inning and earned his first hold on 6/22 at Boston … preserved a 7-6 White Sox lead by striking out Chris Young to end the frame with the tying run on base.  Earned his first major-league win on 7/30 at Minnesota … pitched out of a bases-loaded, two-out situation in the bottom of the ninth.  Worked a career-high 3.0 scoreless IP and retired nine of 10 batters faced on 8/11 at Kansas City … entered the game in the second inning after Miguel Gonzalez left due to injury.  Seven of his final eight appearances were scoreless, including a seven-game scoreless streak from 8/24-9/29 … allowed just two hits with nine strikeouts over 9.1 IP during the streak.  Struck out a season-high four on 9/3 at Minnesota (2.1 IP).  Combined to go 1-3 with a 3.90 ERA (12 ER/27.2 IP), four saves and 24 strikeouts over 21 relief appearances between Birmingham and Charlotte.  Retired all 12 batters he faced over three appearances with the Barons to open the season.  Was promoted to the Knights on 4/18 and made 18 appearances … made six straight scoreless appearances (9.1 IP) from 5/4-19.  Earned the save on 5/11 at Norfolk (1.1 scoreless IP) … struck out a season-high three on 5/21 vs. Gwinnett.  Entered the season rated by MLB.com as the No. 26 Prospect in the White Sox organization.  Pitched for Aguilas in the Dominican Winter League, posting a 1.54 ERA (2 ER/11.2 IP) over 13 appearances.

Began the season at Single-A Beloit of the Midwest League where he went 2-1 with a 2.14 ERA in 15 starts before he was promoted to Single-A Stockton of the California League July 5…went 1-2 with a save and a 7.71 ERA in seven games, six starts, with the Ports…combined for a 3-3 record and a 3.68 ERA in 22 games overall…had career highs in every category except losses…allowed a .236 opponents batting average, including .236 (37-for-157) by right-handed hitters compared to .237 (31-for-131) by left-handers … yielded just five home runs in 75.2 innings, an average of 0.59 per nine innings…opponents hit .176 when leading off an inning … allowed a .196 average with runners in scoring position with Beloit compared to .400 at Stockton…tossed five innings or fewer in all but one of his starts and 12 of his 21 starts lasted fewer than four innings…was rated as the A's No. 4 prospect by Baseball America following the season.

MINORS: Held opponents to a .221 batting average at Beloit…went 1-0 with a 1.70 ERA and .182 opponents batting average in 10 starts at home compared to 1-1 with a 3.06 ERA and .292 opponents average in five starts on the road…had a 0.90 ERA over the first two innings and a 3.65 ERA from the third inning on…did not have a decision in five starts in the month of April but allowed just two earned runs for a 1.29 ERA…allowed one earned run or fewer in each of his first nine starts through May 22 (1.57 ERA) but tossed four innings or fewer in each outing…struck out a season high seven batters in 4.0 innings May 11 against Cedar Rapids … recorded his only two wins with Beloit in consecutive starts against Wisconsin June 7 and 13…had back-to-back starts with 5.0 scoreless innings on the 13th and June 23 against Peoria as part of a season-high 14.0 inning scoreless streak … named to the Midwest League Midseason All-Star team and pitched a scoreless fourth inning for the West team…finished June 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in five starts…was promoted to Stockton July 5 and allowed a .274 opponents average … was 1-0 with a 4.82 ERA and .147 opponents average in two starts at home compared to 0-2 with a 10.03 ERA and .360 opponents average in five games on the road … yielded a season-high seven runs in 4.0 innings in his first start July 5 against Modesto but had a no decision in a game the Ports would win 8-7 in 10 innings … then allowed a season-high nine hits in in 3.2 innings in his second start July 10 at Modesto … pitched for the World team in the Futures Game and was the losing pitcher in a 4-2 loss … pitched the fourth inning and allowed two runs on three hits, a walk and a strikeout…walked a season high six batters while allowing five runs on five hits in 2.0 innings in his third start with Stockton July 21 at San Jose…was 0-2 with a 14.90 ERA over his first three starts … then went 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA over his final four appearances … tossed a season-high 5.1 scoreless innings July 26 against San Jose for his only win with the Ports … was placed on the disabled list Aug. 2 with a strained right shoulder … was reinstated Aug. 28 and made his only relief appearance of the season that day at Bakersfield … tossed a scoreless ninth inning for the save…tossed 2.0 scoreless, hitless innings in his final start of the season Sept. 1 at Modesto.

2012 Began the year in extended spring training before going 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in six starts with the A's affiliate in the Arizona Rookie League...was transferred to Short Season Vermont July 28, posting a 1-3 record and a 6.97 ERA in eight games, six starts, with the Lake Monsters...combined for a 1-4 record and a 6.46 ERA in 14 games, 12 starts...struck out 25 batters but also walked 25 in 30.2 innings (7.34 per nine innings)...had 11 wild pitches, including 10 in 20.2 innings with Vermont...allowed a .258 opponents batting average, including .203 (15-for-74) against right-handed pitching compared to .348 (16-for-46) against left-handers...surrendered eight of his 10 extra base hits to lefties for a .630 slugging percentage...righties slugged .257...had 15 walks and four strikeouts against lefties compared to 10 walks and 21 strikeouts against righties...yielded a .205 average with runners in scoring position...opponents were 1-for-15 (.067) with RISP and two outs...allowed a .323 batting average and .382 on-base percentage to batters leading off an inning. 2011 Missed the entire season as he rehabbed from Aug. 25, 2010 "Tommy John" surgery. 2010 Made his professional debut with the A's Arizona Rookie League team but made just three starts before his season was halted to due elbow problems...was 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA in his three starts... struck out 11 batters in 9.0 innings...held the opposition to a .188 batting average...tossed 3.0 scoreless innings in his first start June 21 at the Angels (1 h, 4 so)...then allowed three runs in 3.0 innings in a loss to the Reds June 26 and two runs in 3.0 innings in a no decision at the Royals July 1...would not make another start before undergoing "Tommy John" surgery on his elbow Aug. 25. 2009 Began the season on the disabled list with the A's affiliate in the Arizona Rookie League with a strained right elbow...missed the entire season...entered the season rated as the A's third best prospect by Baseball America...was also listed as number 54 on the magazine's Top 100 Prospect List prior to the season.
