Moroff, Kingham among 11 Bucs sent to Minors

The Pirates trimmed their Spring Training roster on Tuesday morning, cutting 11 players and bringing clarity to the remaining competition for their Opening Day roster. Pittsburgh optioned three players to Triple-A Indianapolis: right-hander Nick Kingham, infielder Max Moroff and super-utility man Christopher Bostick. The Bucs also reassigned eight players to Minor League camp.

Osuna set for winter ball

Nearing the end of his first season in the Majors, Pirates outfielder Jose Osuna isn't quite done playing. Osuna expects to play winter ball in his native Venezuela, and to spend most of his time there at a new position, third base.

Attended Colegio Nuestra Del Fatima...Played baseball and soccer while growing up...Has participated in the Venezuelan Winter League each of the last five offseasons; was named the league's Rookie-of-the-Year while finishing fourth in the MVP voting in 2015...Signed by Pirate scouts Rene Gayo and Rodolfo Petit.
