Full name is Jorge Luis Bonifacio...name pronounced: bohn-i-FAH-see-oh...Older brother, Emilio, is a Major League infielder, who played with the Royals in 2013.

2016

Played 134 games for Omaha (AAA), batting .277/.351/.461 with 46 extra-base hits (19 home runs) and 86 RBI, which ranked fifth in the Pacific Coast League...Named Storm Chasers Player of the Year by the Omaha media after leading the team in runs (82), hits (137), triples (six) home runs, RBI, total bases (228) and walks (51)...Selected to participate in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game at Petco Park…served as the starting designated hitter for the World Team and walked in both of his plate appearances...Hit two grand slams in 2016, including a 10th-inning shot in a 6-4 win at Memphis on Aug. 3...Recorded 17 outfield assists, one shy of the PCL lead, including seven assists at home plate.

Spent the entire season with Double-A Northwest Arkansas for the second straight season...Named a Texas League All-Star for the second time, earning the game's "Top Star" honor, blasting the go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning...Tied for fourth in the Texas League in homers, while he ranked seventh in doubles and tied for 11th in RBI ...also tied for sixth in the league in strikeouts...Batted .267 with a .332 on-base percentage at home, compared to a .217 average and a .281 OBP on the road...Best month came in June when he hit .289 with five doubles, six homers and 15 RBI...also hit .281 in August with five doubles, two homers and nine RBI.

Rated as the fourth-best prospect in the Royals' organization by Baseball America entering 2014...Jorge spent the full year at Northwest Arkansas (AA), batting .230 with 4 homers and 51 RBI in a career high 132 games...Tied for ninth in the Texas League with four triples, which also led the Naturals…also ranked ninth in hits (116) and 10th in walks (50)...Batted just .199 (29-for-146) against left-handed pitching, after hitting .383 (31-for-83) vs. southpaws in 2013...Collected a career-high five hits vs. Springfield (5-for-6) with a triple and two runs scored on August 21.

2013

Jorge put together a solid year despite missing six weeks (May 14-June 24) with a broken bone in his hand...Opened season at Wilmington (A-Advanced) and was promoted to Northwest Arkansas (AA) after returning from the disabled list, July 26...Batted .373 (31-for-83) with a .627 slugging percentage (9 doubles, 1 triple) against left-handed pitching combined over the three levels...Over the final five weeks of the season, ranked eighth in the Texas League in batting average (.301) and 10th in on-base percentage (.371).
