Kole Alan Calhoun...On Twitter: @KoleCalhoun. Active participant in the Angels Baseball Foundation's visits to Children's Hospital of Orange County. Attended Buckeye HS (AZ)...Played collegiate baseball at Arizona State University after transferring from Yavapai Junior College. Father Gregg, now a Phoenix woodworker, at one point left playing baseball to ride bulls. Originally signed by Angels scout John Gracio.

2015

Completed fourth year with the Angels (second full season), batti ng .256 (161/630) with 78 runs scored, 23 doubles, two triples, 26 home runs and 83 RBIs... Established new career highs in home runs, RBI and walks (45). 26 home runs were the most by a Halos right fielder since Vladimir Guerrero in 2008 (27) and most by a homegrown right fielder since Tim Salmon's 34 in 2000...Homered off Zack Greinke Sept. 7 and off Clayton Kershaw Sept. 8...Was the only Major Leaguer to homer off both pitchers... Collected first career multi -home run game July 18 vs. Boston. Registered 11 assists, which ti ed for seventh in the A.L. and ti ed for fourth Major League right fielder... Was the first Angel to tally 10 or more outfield assists since Torii Hunter in 2012 (14). 159 games ti ed a franchise mark for games by a right fielder, set by Devon White in 1987...Made starts batting 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Won first career Gold Glove aft er posting a .989 fielding percentage, good for second among A.L. right fielders while 11 assists ranked third...Committed just four errors in a league leading 357 total chances...Also led American League right fielders in defensive runs saved (6) and ultimate zone rating (13.8).

In first full season with Angels, hit .272 (134/493) with 31 doubles, three triples, 17 home runs, 90 runs scored and 58 RBI...After batting .221 (23/104) in his first 28 games, posted a .285 average (111/389) remainder of year...Spent a majority of season batting leadoff for Halos, posting a .281 (126/448) clip in the role with 17 home runs, 86 runs scored and 58 RBI...Became third player (4th occurrence) in franchise history to log 30 doubles and 15 home runs in a single season batting leadoff: Brian Downing in 1982 and Darin Erstad in 1998 and 2000...His 17 home runs were good for seventh most in club history by a Halo leadoff hitter...Angels went 48-13 when he scored a run, including a 36-4 mark after July 1...Was ninth Angels leadoff batter (12th occurrence) to score 85 or more runs in a season (last, Mike Trout in 2012)...Made just one error in 123 starts in right field, establishing a new club record for fewest errors as a right fielder while his .996 was also a new club record by a right fielder (min. 100 GS)...Named a finalist for a Rawlings Gold Glove Award at the right field position...Made his first career Opening Day roster, becoming Club's first home grown Opening Day right fielder since Tim Salmon in 2003...Missed 31 games after leaving April 15 contest with a sprained right ankle.

Hit .282 (55/195) with seven doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 32 RBI in 58 games with the Angels…Made season debut on July 28 at Oakland after spending a majority of the season with Triple-A Salt Lake…Led AL rookies in RBI and was tied for first in home runs after call-up... Club went 25-24 in his 49 starts, including 20-12 over his last 32... Logged first career home run and first career 4-hit game on Aug. 2…Was the first Angel to collect four hits in a game during his first 30 games since Alfredo Amezaga on May 29, 2002 and just the ninth Halo ever...Was one of three different Angels to hit their first home run in 2013 (G. Green and J.B. Shuck)... Hit four home runs from atop the Angels lineup this season, second most all-time by a Halo rookie (M. Trout, 30, 2012)... Had a streak of eight straight games with an RBI from Aug. 24-Sept. 2, the second longest such streak by an Angel rookie in franchise history (W. Joyner, 10 games, July 4-13, 1986)... According to ELIAS, his 11 straight road games with an RBI (Aug. 24-Sept. 12) were the longest single-season road RBI streak since Ryan Howard in 2006…Was also the first Major League rookie with an RBI in 11 straight road contests since the Halos' Wally Joyner in 1986 (13 straight)…Was the first American League player with an RBI in 15 of 16 starts since Gee Walker in 1937... Hit .354 (85/240) with 15 doubles, six triples, 12 home runs and 49 RBI in 59 games for the Bees…If he qualified, his .354 average would have ranked second in the PCL at the time of his call-up…Was leading Bees in homers and ranked third in RBI.

2012 Spent a majority of season with Triple-A Salt Lake...Hit .298 (122-for-410) with 30 doubles, seven triples, 14 home runs and 73 RBIs with Bees...His .298 clip ranked second on club while he finished tied for first in runs (79), second in triples and third in hits (122), RBIs and doubles...Batted .303 (91-for-300) and hit 12 of 14 homers vs. right-handed pitching compared to .282 (31-for-110) vs. lefties...Tabbed as a PCL Mid-Season All-Star after batting .298 (81-for-272) with 21 doubles, 10 homers and 53 RBIs before Minor League All-Star break...Went 4-for-23 (.174) throughout three stints with Angels in 2012 (21 G)...Collected a hit in all three big league starts...Made his Major League debut with Angels in right field May 22 @ Oakland as a ninth-inning defensive replacement for Mark Trumbo...Doubled off Oakland's Jarrod Parker on May 23 for first ML hit...The game also marked first big league start (RF)...Initially had contract purchased on May 21...Received club's 2012 Fred Haney Award, given annually to top rookie in Angels' Spring Training...Hit .354 with seven doubles, one triple and six RBIs during spring. 2011 Named Angels' Kenny Myers Minor League Player of the Year in 2011 after batting .324 (166-for-512) with 22 home runs and 99 RBIs for Inland Empire...Ranked third in California League in total bases (280), fourth in hits, fifth in RBIs and sixth in average (tied for sixth) and home runs. 2010 Began his professional career with Rookie level Orem...Ranked second on club in doubles (14) and RBIs (42).
