Pitched the majority of the second half of the season with St. Louis, pitching in 13 games (10 starts) over three stints. Was the 7th different Cardinals pitcher to make a start behind the original starting five and Marco Gonzales ... Was a non-roster invitee to Major League Spring Training, but a left wrist injury attempting to field a ball during batting practice sidelined him until June, where he started the season in Springfield (AA)...Began the season in Springfield (AA) by going 6-3 with a 1.40 ERA in 12 starts before a promotion to Memphis (AAA) in early August, where he made one start, and was then purchased by St. Louis...Posted 7-3 record with a 1.30 ERA in 13 combined minor league starts (83.0 IP) between Springfield & Memphis...Made his Major League debut at CHI (8/13) after 38 career minor league starts over three professional seasons. Pitched 4.0 innings allowing two runs in a no-decision the Cardinals eventually won, 8-4...Struck out first two Major League batters faced in debut: Dexter Fowler (looking) and Kris Bryant (swinging)...Was the ninth different Cardinal to make his MLB debut in 2016 and the second Cardinals rookie to make a start. Pitched the entire 2015 season in Palm Beach (A) with an 8-5 record and 1.62 ERA over 19 starts...led Palm Beach in games started (19), WHIP (0.86) and earned run average (1.62) ...named Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July posting a 3-1 record with an 0.94 ERA over five starts with 28.2 innings, 27 strikeouts and an 0.94 WHIP...had a streak of 19.1 consecutive scoreless innings from 7/31-8/17...won four straight starts from August 5-23 en route to an August record of 4-0 with an 0.89 ERA over 30.1 innings...did not allow a home run over his final 11 starts of the season covering 66 innings...threw a career-high 7.2 scoreless innings of three-hit ball in a win at Clearwater (7/17), matching a career-high eight strikeouts...made one start in the Florida State League playoffs tossing 6.0 innings, allowing four runs with five strikeouts in a loss...pitched in seven games for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League, going 2-1 with a 3.72 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 19.1 innings; posted the 2ndlowest WHIP (0.83) among qualifying pitchers and ranked T12th in strikeouts.
