Outfielder Jorge Soler is rejoining the Royals after Kansas City recalled the outfielder from Triple-A Omaha and placed infielder Cheslor Cuthbert on the 10-day disabled list with a left wrist sprain, the club announced Wednesday.

Full name is Cheslor Jesly Cuthbert...resides on Corn Island, Nicaragua... Played for his home country, Nicaragua, in the 2012 World Baseball Classic Qualifier.

2016

Had two stints with the Royals, first joining them on May 7, before returning to Omaha (AAA) on May 20…was recalled three days later after Mike Moustakas suffered a season-ending ACL injury...In 24 games with Omaha, he hit .333/.402/.624 (31- for-93) with seven home runs and 28 RBI, which led all Triple-A players prior to his first recall...Had a hit in each of his first seven games with KC...Won the American League rookie batting title with a .274 average (130-for-475) to edge Texas' Nomar Mazara (.266)…he's the first Royal to win the AL rookie batting title since Eric Hosmer (.293) in 2011...Also led AL rookies in doubles (28), tied for the lead in multi-hit games (33), was second in hits (130) and fourth in RBI (46)...Made 123 starts - all at third base - fourth most in Royals history for a rookie third baseman, trailing Kevin Seitzer (139 in 1987), Alex Gordon (129 in 2007) and George Brett (128 in 1974)...His 12 home runs were third most by a Royals rookie third baseman, trailing Kevin Seitzer (14 in 1987) and Alex Gordon (14 in 2007)...Went 3-for-4 with two homers on June 11 at the White Sox, becoming the first Royals rookie with a multihome run game since Eric Hosmer on Aug. 31, 2011...Recorded his first career walk-off RBI (single) in the 13th inning of a 2-1 win over Detroit on June 19...Earned July Player of the Month honors, batting .340/.373/.489 (32-for-94) with 10 extra-base hits and 13 RBI...ranked 10th among AL qualified hitters in batting average for the month...Had a career-high 12-game hitting streak from July 7-23, batting .419/.449/.628 (18-for-43) to mark the longest hitting streak by a Royals rookie since Mike Moustakas' 15-game streak in 2011...Batted .320 (39-for-122) vs. lefties, including 38 hits in his last 104 at-bats (.365) following a 1-for-18 start...Hit .290 (69-for-238) at home, including at least one hit in 22 of 23 home games from June 28-Aug. 20...Batted .291 through Sept. 3, but hit just .193 (16-for- 83) over his last 26 games.

Opened the year with Omaha (AAA) and made his Major League debut on July 7 in a day-night doubleheader with Tampa Bay...appeared in 19 games for the Royals, batting .217 with two doubles, a triple, a homer and eight RBI...Hit safely in his first five games as a Royal (July 7-26)...capped his streak with a two-run double off Houston's Dallas Keuchel on July 26 at Kauffman Stadium...Connected for his first Major League home run on September 3, blasting a two-run shot off Detroit's Guido Knudson...added a two-run single in the second inning for a season high four RBI...Batted .278 (10-for-36) with all four of his extra-base hits at 'The K'...Selected to play in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati for the World Team...also tabbed a Pacific Coast League All Star...Batted .330 (37-for-112) with eight doubles, a triple, three homers and 18 RBI in his final 28 games with the Storm Chasers.

2014

Cheslor spent a majority of the season with Northwest Arkansas (AA), before being promoted to Omaha (AAA) on August 6…Played final 25 games with the Storm Chasers, hitting .264 with 5 doubles, 2 homers and 16 RBI...Named a Texas League All-Star and tabbed the league's Player of the Week on June 23, which came in the midst of a season-best 11-game hitting streak...Ranked 19th in the Texas League in hits (98), despite playing in just 96 games…his total was second-highest among players to appear in less than 100 games…Also ranked 13th in on-base percentage (.342) and 17th in doubles (19)...Played in all 10 postseason games with Omaha, batting .270 (10-for-37) with five runs scored, a double, two homers and six RBI…This included going 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a sacrifice fly in the Triple-A Championship vs. Pawtucket, helping the Chasers to a 4-2 victory.

2013

Cheslor split his fourth professional season between Wilmington (A-Advanced) and Northwest Arkansas (AA)... Batted .280 with 21 doubles, two homers and 31 RBI for Wilmington, before being promoted on June 12...ranked fifth in the Carolina League in doubles at the time of his promotion... Tabbed Texas League Player of the Week on August 26 after going 9-for-19 (.473) with three doubles, a homer and seven RBI for the Naturals... Following the season, played 13 games for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League.
