Full name EVAN PATRICK MARSHALL...Married, Allie...Attended Kansas State University…Ranked second on the Wildcats'all-time appearance list (85) at the time of his departure…Earned All-Big 12 Second-Team honors as a sophomore reliever...Is a 2008 graduate of Homestead (Calif.) High School…Was a 4-time team Most Valuable Player and named All-Central CoastSection Second Team as a junior…Garnered Louisville Slugger Preseason High School All-American honors in 2008...On Twitter: @EMARSH31...Grew up a San Francisco Giants fan, favorite player was Barry Bonds.

2017

Split the season between AAA Tacoma, Seattle and the disabled list after being claimed on waivers just prior to Opening Day by the Mariners (from Arizona)...Was in his seventh season in the D-Backs org. prior to being designated for assignment at the end of camp (3/28)... Was with Seattle, April 12-25, and again on May 5...Enjoyed career-long outing on April 16 vs. Texas (2.1IP, 0H, 0R)...Was injured warming up on May 5 vs. Texas and was placed on the Major League D.L. for nearly two months with a right hamstring strain...Was activated and optioned on August 2 and spent the remainder of the year in Tacoma...Pitched for Venados de Mazatlan in the Mexican Winter League in October/November (7 saves, 3.77 ERA, 15 games, 14.1 IP, 18H, 6ER, 2BB, 11SO).

Appeared in 8 games over 3 stints with the D-backs and was 0-1 with a 8.80 ERA (15 ER in 15.1 IP)...In 33 appearances with Triple-A Reno, went 1-1 with a 4.59 ERA (17 ER in 33.1 IP)…his 13 holds were tied for the most in the Pacific Coast League...On the disabled list from August 24-31 with a right lumbar spine strain.

Pitched in 13 games with the D-backs and was 0-2 with a 6.08 ERA (9 ER in 13.1 IP)...Began the season with Arizona and was optioned to Triple-A Reno on May 11...was 3-2 with a 6.40 ERA (23 ER in 32.1 IP) in 31 games with the Aces...Was struck in the head on Aug. 4 at El Paso and suffered a fractured skull and did not play the remainder of the season...Recalled by the D-backs on Sept. 8 and placed on the 60-day disabled list.

2014

Was 4-4 with 19 holds and a 2.74 ERA (15 ER in 49.1 IP) in 57 games in his first Major League season with Arizona... His 19 holds were a club rookie record, while his 2.74 ERA was sixth best by a D-backs rookie reliever (min. 30 games)... Ranked among NL rookie relievers in holds (2nd), appearances (3rd), strikeouts (5th, 54) and innings pitched (6th)... Boasted a 1.80 ERA (6 ER in 30.0 IP) over final 37 games...Stranded 24 of 29 inherited runners…did not allow his first 14 IR to score...Opponents were 0-for-8 with the bases loaded, 1 of 9 pitchers in the Majors to not yield a hit with the bases loaded (min. 8 at-bats)... Earned the win in his Major League debut on May 6 @ Brewers, becoming the third D-backs relief pitcher to do so (also Clay Zavada on May 21, 2009 @ Marlins and Josh Collmenter on April 17, 2011 vs. Giants)... Did not allow an earned run in his first 8 relief appearances (8.2 IP), the fifth-longest streak by a D-backs rookie to start his career... Received his first career ejection after hitting Ryan Braun with a pitch on June 17 vs. Brewers...Made 14 appearances with Triple-A Reno, going 0-1 with 1 save, a 0.54 ERA (1 ER in 16.2 IP) and 19 strikeouts…contract was purchased on May 6.

Played the entire season with Reno, going 3-6 with 3 saves, a 4.34 ERA (28 ER in 58.0 IP) and 59 strikeouts... Owned a 9.28 ERA (13 ER in 12.2 IP) in his first 13 games versus a 2.98 ERA (15 ER in 45.1 IP) over his final 41...Named Reno's Player of the Month for July after going 1-1 with 1 save, a 1.32 ERA (2 ER in 13.2 IP) and 17 strikeouts in 12 appearances... On the 7-day disabled list from May 1-8 with a strained left hamstring.

2012 Spent the entire season with Double-A Mobile, going 6-3 with 16 saves and a 3.51 ERA (19 ER in 48.2 IP) in 35 relief appearances...Named to the Southern League midseason All-Star Team...tied for sixth in the SL in saves...Played with Salt River in the Arizona Fall League and went 0-1 with 2 saves and a 2.19 ERA (3 ER in 12.1 IP)...Entered the season rated by MLB.com as the No. 10 Prospect among Arizona farmhands. 2011 Went 0-1 with a 1.16 ERA (4 ER in 31.0 IP), 6 saves and 31 strikeouts in 27 relief appearances with Short-Season A Yakima, Single-A Visalia and Double-A Mobile...Limited opponents to a .217 average (26-for-120), including a .143 (6-for-21) mark by left-handers...Posted a 0.89 ERA (2 ER in 20.1 IP) in 18 games from July 6-Aug. 26.
