Righty reliever Scott Oberg, switch-hitting infielder Cristhian Adames and right-handed hitting outfielder-first baseman Stephen Cardullo were rewarded for standout springs with spots on the Rockies' Opening Day roster, manager Bud Black announced Friday afternoon.

Panciera Most Valuable Award and the James Allen Pitching Award for the second time… All-Big East First Team selection his final year, posted a 5-0 record and nine saves, while striking out 36 batters in 36.1 innings … finished with a 0.99 earned run average to become the first UConn pitcher since 1976 to register a sub-1.00 ERA … was the first pitcher to earn the team MVP award since Tim Norton in 2006 and the first relief pitcher since the award was instituted in 1981 … pitched at Tewksbury Memorial High School in Tewksbury, Mass. ... Was 0-1 with five saves and a 2.61 ERA (10.1 IP, 3 ER) in April … had six saves and a 4.09 ERA in May (11.0 IP, 5 ER) … did not allow a run in June (4.0 IP, 0 ER), posting four saves in four games. Placed on the seven-day disabled list June 13 and pitched only twice more, July 31 and Aug. 3 for a combined two innings. Made just six appearances after May due to injury…despite the injury, was named to the Texas League Midseason All-Star team. Went 0-1 with 15 saves (in 15 opportunities) and a 2.63 ERA (27.1 IP, 8 ER) in his 27 games for the Drillers… held opponents to a .218 batting average against and walked just six batters.
